Forzas damage sucks shiet, way to fake.

Not nearly as fake as speeding along with a Ferrari F2005 Formula 1 Car at well over 340km/h and hit a wall head-first, only to magically bounce off with nary a scratch and continue driving as if nothing ever happened.

Wait... in GT, nothing ever does happen!

i don't think your going to get a Jeep Wrangler Ben, sorry, heh

@your mother, yes, forza 2 has damage modeling, but it DOES NOT affect handling proportionatly. if it was put into GT the cars would become undriveable too quickly. but yes, about the manufacturers reason doesn't sound right. but calling polyphony lazy is bullshit, they put more time into GT than any other dev i've ever heard of.

I honestly don't think GT (3 at least) handles car physics that well either. Their tyre modeling sucks (but then again, so does Forza's and their car physics isn't exactly stellar either).

I still call Polyphony lazy - not in their car modeling skills which IMO beats Forza's hands down - and looks downright stupefying. I agree that they put an inordinate amount of effort in making the cars look as nice as they do, which is why as a developer they are considered the best in car modeling, period. My main issue with the game has always been the lack of damage modeling, and that's the only reason I call slack on Polyphony.

I mean, come on - it's been how many iterations of the game and this essential feature in a racing simulation isn't even included? For that reason alone it cannot be considered a driving simulation.

Here's a quote from the website you linked:

"On behalf of GTCenter eu, we would like to apologize for the GT5 car list, it had turned out that the list that was sent to us was a fake and is not provided by Sony, but rather a mere Wishlist."

So now begins GT5 as being masturbation material for car enthusiasts without any actual game content...

Oh wait that happened with GT4...

Sorry but the GT series is simply boring now, as great as it looks to the eye, the actual game content is just completely barebones and so incredibly slow paced compared to GT2 - easily the best in the series, Gran Turismo has never been the same since 3 came about.

To me this just proves a lack of focus on the game itself, it seems Polyphony and Sony just want to boast that bigger is better, the more numbers the more people listen, you can't deny that the car listing is extremely excessive.

EDIT: My bad, I realise now the list was a fake, but again I still stand by my idea that GT no longer actually focuses on the racing at all, just the flare.

Because clearly if he doesn't like Gran Turismo, he must be a Nintendo fanboy. Please.

Will you stop baiting people into flamewars already? It's getting pretty irritating.

EDIT: I was sad to see that the Dodge Neon '00 was not included.

And a PS1 and PS2...

And yes, GT sucks, 3 was poor compared to 2, 4 was god awful. Forza and TOCA are far better and PGR as an arcade racer also beats the crud out of GT, which I feel lost it's credibility as a good racing series long ago. Check my profile Killzone3, then make your judgements.

I've been playing GT since the first game came out. Side note: GT2 was my favorite. I'm really looking forward to love to have car damage implemented; I've been longing for it!
