I remember when Codemasters cited VGC for their DiRT sales numbers that a thread was created bitching about the fact the VGC is the source at GAF. I asked what's wrong with people and all the hate ioi is getting, the next reply was accusing me to be ioi!
I started to be a sales numbers addicted thanks to crazybuttocksontrain leaked NPD numbers on NeoGAF and latter bunkum's numbers.
Since it's prohibited to post NPD numbers on GAF (and I fully understand it), it looks more like a dictatorship there, and the hate for VGC have gone so far that you get a perma-ban if you post "ioi's numbers"...

Making VGC "credible" across the gaming boards will be a tough and a long fight.
And once again ioi, thank you very much for all the huge and excellent work (even the web site is looking really sexy lately ). I'm far from being the only one that appreciate what you're doing.

To me, the sales numbers and charts are just a bonus. I just come here for the great forums. This is the first forum I have been to that is actually civilized and the posters here actually have discussions.

Keep up the good work with the numbers, but if people want to join a real forum, they will come here eventually.

I also think ioi worries too much about the balance of members on this forum. The forum will attract who it will attract, if people get out of line, then they should be repremanded regardless the rarity of their gaming bias. Your threads about what to do about getting more Sony/MS fanboys are really worrisome because it shows you fretting over something that can't be changed without screwing over your forum base and is something really inmaterial to the website's functionality. People will always accuse you and your site of being biased for any number of reasons, this is a fact, the only two options you have are to either ban those who make those accusations or stay up at night worrying about how to make every mal-content happy.

Yeah seriously, the only fanbase shortage I see on this site is MS fans. Though you'll find that anywhere on the web oddly enough.

ioi, have you tried to make peace with the people who run NeoGaf? With a site that large, they're probably pretty rational people if you present your case to them.

Bad blood between sites in the same industry never leads to anything productive.

It's not that large in terms of it only a handful of mods/admins in charge, and they're the ones who don't like him. :P
