I'm not gonna say what should be done. But that is far from the right answer. You solved nothing. The idiot troll poster... got a slap on the wrist, and the personal insult guy got complimented. EDIT: Rendo - If I was recruiting the people for the mod jobs. (I'm not) I wouldnt pick you as you seem to think of a mod as a fun thing to do, (being a mod is not supposed to be a fun thing. Really now, moderation is determined by specific guidelines set in place. It's scenario dependant. There's no right or wrong answer when it comes to this, well mine is 100% right, but that's besides the point. How I would moderate any forums, I would let the first guy have his fan boy rant, but edit his post so it doesn't look like he has no idea what the CAPSLOCK key does. People with a right mind will put him in his place for his post, so let the boy troll. The second guy however is a winner. His post gets removed for flaming a personally specifically, not to mention promoting bodily harm. Real champ there. EDIT Being a parent is a job, is that not supposed to be fun? You seriously don't have a clue. I hope Wii_Gamer chooses someone with a bit more class than you, you're obviously not fit to be a mod here.

That's better but still not quite up to par from what I used to do to paying customers for doing the same thing. (I was one of the nicer mods) EDIT for your edit: Being a parent is a job. I assure you it's fun. But is it still fun when your daughter comes home knocked up stoned out of her mind on crystal meth? (being a mod has ups and downs... well really it has no ups. Just downs... you can chat as a member. Being a mod only has downs) EDIT2: Actually it does have a up. You have new viewers looking up to you.

Being a mod also has UPs. You look at moderation like it's a bad thing, and that you have to be a hard ass with no opinion, who's only job is to sit there and make sure everyone else places nice. Your personification of it can be whatever you want, but you should try and look at it from both sides, you know like an impartial moderator should. As a moderator, you are doing the community a favour by offering YOUR services to assist in the maintaining of this site, or for the sake of the argument, any site. It comes with little reward, yes, but the feeling you get for knowing you do a good job (If you do a good job) is more than enough of a reward for a good moderator.

I'd nominate stof myself, he's relatively down to earth and could probably handle the task. I'm not certain if I could nominate Kwaad in good faith, but he certainly has the time to go over the forums.

Other than self gratification. There are no 'personal' perks. You do it for a community. Does that help you? No. If I hate being a mod so much. Why Am I trying to show a basic guideline as to what a good mod is? I'm not saying. Be a jerkoff to everyone. "Your post is trollish. That's your 3rd warning. Goodbye." "Your post is personally attacking someone. Goodbye." "Your post upset me. Goodbye." That's a BAD mod. VERY bad. However. "Look dude, dont be telling people to go kill themselves with scissors." And that is it. That is well... Just as bad.

Thanks dude. Your my #2 person I'd nominate. (seriously. You know the website very well, and you have a good personality) However as your #2. I'm not nominating you. As I'm not gonna nominate everyone capable. :P And I'm not gonna say who I nominated. But I dont think anyone else has that I have seen. EDIT: But he is multi platform loving, and has a slight edge for the Wii. :P

There you go taking my words out of context again. I have 2 kids under 2. I _KNOW_ I do the best job I can with them, so does that make me a bad parent for congratulating myself on molding my kids into responsible humans? You need to go to bed, because right now it's very hard to tell what end your thoughts are coming out of.
