Forums - Website Topics - Who wants to be a moderator?

I agree about the "personal" fighting BTW. That was another of my issues on "pcvsconsole" - it seemed that personal insults and conflict was actually promoted, as certain people seemed to get kicks out of it. There is no need for it. (light stuff can be warned off first - no need to ban straight away).

No, but he tends to not have an opinion. Kinda what I am saying. I'm not saying dont post and talk. Just be factual. Opinion is not for mods.

Being a moderator doesn't prevent you from being like ANY other user. You just have the added responsibility of overseeing the forum with the intent to keep it running as smoothly as possible with very few incidents as possible. Suggesting you wouldn't have an opinion is careless, and isn't responsible. Say you apply to a job at a fast food restaurant. Say this restaurant isn't quite your favourite place to dine, but it's in the top5. You're not going to have an opinion anymore about your favourite place to eat? Don't be absurd. A good moderator is someone who can be impartial to disputes, but can still remain real. I personally would love to be a moderator here, but quite frankly I have too many other prior commitments that would interfere with this so that disqualifies me right there. I couldn't care less who the moderator is, as long as they're level-headed, impartial, and won't be abusive because they hold | | more power over 99% of the rest of us.

Kwaad said: shams said: Oh yeah... and I nominate Kwaad He seems to have plenty of time to browse the forum, his language/English is pretty good, and I think his posts are a good example of what *should* be allowed on the forum. Plus, it should be fun to have a PS3 fanboy as a moderator - balances out all the Wii fans here ;) If I am a mod. I will NOT have a opinion.
Your gunna be a pretty dull mod then. Who is gunna be my enemy then??? Wii_gamer will you be my enemy? Like I will say "The PS3 is the best system" and you will say "no way". Then I will be like "Ya Way". Once I say that you will say " No way G-dog". Then I will be like " Well we'z got'z da blu-ray hommie" Then you will say " Well we'z cheep'z and we have da motion sensitivity Homeslice" and I will say " We gotz da six-axis my nizzle" and then you will be like "Oh noez you didntz" and I will finish off by saying "Oh heck ya I did'z"

So if I worked at... Burger king as a cashier. I should share my opinion with people that Hardees is cheaper, and has better food? Wow. That's awesome. Because I've worked fast food. You would be fired on the spot. EDIT: Can we get back on topic? This is getting kinda off the who should be moderator.

Exactly my point. You're careless. Obviously you don't put your job at stake with something as ridiculous as that. But if you were speaking from your PERSONAL level, not BUSINESS level, there's nothing wrong with that. This isn't a business, these forums are meant for PERSONAL discussions. There's a difference. You think having ZERO opinion about what this site is about will make you a good mod? How is that real? Why would people even respect someone who would refuse to be as real with them as they try and be with you?

Kwaad: That's just 2 different levels. On the subject, there should be no censorship by any mod. Opinions don't have to be moderated. The mod is for personal stuff, mostly stopping insults. So I guess you're a good mod if you don't start insulting people yourself.

Well being a mod is different. Anyways never say your opinion at a fast food joint. That got me fired. A guy asked me whats the best food here and I told him nothing and I said Quizno had better food, cheaper, and was just across the street. PS: I worked at subway :)

Hm... this thread seems to be spiraling out of control. I'm starting to think that maybe we should get some user mods on these boards...
