"PSU: Sony has indicated that the long awaited Home v1.0 will be released on PlayStation Network tomorrow.

Unfortunately, v1.0 is currently only available to beta testers, with news of its release leaked via a message distributed by Sony to those currently participating in the on-going beta.

"1.0 will arrive in the closed beta this Thursday the 20th and will entail a downtime starting in the morning. On Friday we will send out our first batch of invitations to new testers to help load-test 1.0 and the new servers that are coming online in the next week or so. We have two further batches of invitations scheduled for the following week and overall we'll be inviting a huge number of people into the closed beta in SCEE territories."

Sony further added: "Open Beta will be here when it's here," though we're sure a lot of you are finding the wait frustrating to say the least, and quite frankly, we don't blame you.

We'll continue to keep you updated."

How long has it been since this was first announced? I am at the point now I could care less, maybe I will change my mind once its here. When I first bought my ps3 Blu-Ray and Home were its selling points to me. So please sony don't let this SUCK.

Home has become such a moneysink for Sony.

Sony London was working on this in addition to EyePet, SingStar, Buzz!, Eight Days, and the Getaway 3, and it's pretty obvious why the latter two were ultimately canceled.

Though I'm sure having two more shooters in addition to all the others (R1/2, Uncharted, KZ2, MAG, Socom) had something to do with it, too.

i think home is updating....i tried logging on and my screen keeps stopping at the initialising screen. (yes it says initialising instead of initializing)

No I'am in the beta. However its not letting me log in. It keeps stopping me from going. The beta is currently at .98 so it's just an update for the beta testers and more invites are being sent.
