It just seem a little backwards to have Yahoo! as the default in a web browser developed by Google. Is this part of that advertising contract they signed to keep Yahoo! out of Microsoft's hands?

Without knowing anything in particular about the situation, that's what it looks like.
Well the only thing is that, I think, Google Chrome came out after they made that advertisement contract yet I don't remember ever Yahoo! being default browser when I first downloaded it.
I guess this is the most pointless of topics ever but I was just curious if anyone knew.

Does it ask during the install?
I used Chrome like once, only now went to check the default search engine and it was Google. Never fiddled with the options, so unless there was something I don't recall from the install, default is google for me.
