Forums - Sony Discussion - PS3 forecasts: Setting the record straight, wondering about their Q2 report

Dodece: The only reason to take a loan is to take advantage of a financial opportunity that you do not have the resources to currently take advantage of, and will be getting a larger return than interest cost. I.E. a house, which may increase payments for a decade (Over rent) but end with an enormous asset at the end of the loan that was worth the cost over previous expense.

Taking a loss and not paying back the loan asap just makes it a bigger loss, seeing as even if payment isn't due for 5 years, interest is still accrued. No one loans money at 0 interest, because then they are losing money.

Well worth a read if you want to understand the current Sony loan agreement for the seven hundred million dollar loan they received last year.

With my knowledge of finance stuff, that article sounds like white noise to me... Especially because it's written in English, not my native language. I'll try again later, I clearly have to lookup some terms to understand that :)

LOOK, we all need to come to the realisation that PS3 selling below par is the -SINGLE- greatest conspiracy theory ever made. Forget the moon landing, forget the titanic sinking, these tremble in significance when you compare them to the fact that the world has been tricked into thinking the PS3 still hasnt sold 4 million units. How gullible we all are hohoho, the PS3 has actually sold 30 million already and is on track to become the first console sent into space! Also didnt you hear? The President has one, oh and the Queen has 3. But this is only part one of Sony's plan, when they have enough PS3's under enough roof's, then they can brainwash the customers into buying every game they have made. Its crazy but it must obviously be true.....
