Forums - Gaming Discussion - So, the latest Sonic is still shitty, but the Wii version is better?

Wii

The Wii version has less annoying traits than the others and still retains all the usual mediocrity. The motion-control elements in the Werehog levels add an extra dimension to the action, and the hub worlds are entirely text-based and aren’t nearly as annoying. If you can stand the diminished graphics, the Wii version actually edges out the PS3 and 360 entries.

Second opinion

Interestingly, the Wii version is actually better – its unique levels are better designed and implemented than on PS3 or 360. Still, after the triumph of Sonic Chronicles for the DS, this is a bit of a letdown.

6.5

CONCEPT:
It’s been about a year, so it’s time for Sega to shake another Sonic game off the tree
GRAPHICS:
The “Hedgehog engine” impresses with bright cartoonish graphics that fly by without a stutter
SOUND:
Like death and taxes, annoying voiceovers from Sonic and his pals are inevitable
PLAYABILITY:
Sonic’s racetrack levels require few inputs, and even on the Wii the controls feel fine
ENTERTAINMENT:
The game is certainly fast, but speed has never been the problem. Sonic’s Werehog levels and the explorative hub world squeeze the entertainment out of this package
REPLAY:
Moderately Low

Poor PS3 Sales Means Smaller Losses

"Actually, because the number of units sold was not as high as we hoped, the loss was better than our original expectation," Quotes from Sony’s CFO Nobuyuki Oneda.

yea only game in the past 10 years that was actually decent.

my remarks still stands.

Thats because Sonic Team isn't what they used to be..

That said, I will probably wait for Sonic and the Black Knight..

I didn't think Sonic Chronicles was all that good... a decent game, but not great.

I can't wait to get this game this weekend and play it. I'm a Sonic boy, so right off the bat I'm more likely to enjoy this more than "normal" people. Couple that with the fact that I absolutely loved SA and it's been bagged on many times, I don't really care what reviewers say about Sonic games anymore.

oh great here we go again,

if the fighting mechanics wont put you off in sonic unleashed, Black knight will.

I used to love sonic back in the Genesis days, been scared to even rent one the last decade....

The review sounds a lil harsh.. IGN welcomed the change in the music dept from Jpop/rock to World music and has given the game a 7.2 not too bad..I still think it should be a good game, the werehog may not be perfect..im gonna have to try this one for myself and decide.

Gameinformer gave TOV a 7.2 and UI a 8.0 and incredible hulk a 6.75(ps3) I HIGHLY DISAGREE..

If theyr putting sonic and hulk in the same score league I think its time to press x on my window

Doubt is not a pleasant condition, but certainty is absurd.
