Forums - Sales Discussion - Sony says NO to Netflix Streaming Movies to Xbox.

How much of the movie industry does Sony own? Because that would one nasty trick to pull :-/

Although it'd just give them more cash for movies, so that's a huge advantage over "not doing it because it's MS".

Sony Pictures is one of the Big 6, so any given year about 12-20% depending on the year, this past year probably about 14%.

So 10% of the queued Netflix movies won't work?

That's not too many....Methinks. But that's just me.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

imagine Microsoft not offering Windows to SONY VAIO , what is going to happen????

It's less "MS offers" than "Sony buys".

Anyway, Linux.

I doubt this would be long term. It is in Sony's best interest to allow these movies on XBox Live, (makes Sony some $$). That's like MS saying no to BD PC Software support for windows because they are in competition with the PS3, I just dont see it for the long haul.

Dont get me wrong, but linux are still not so popular in the puplic. Programmers like my self are the people that use this operating system more often...

Are these movies all available on Blu-ray discs? If not, I'd say that would be a good reason not to allow streaming....

I've talked about the possibility of Sony doing this for months and kept being blown off. And here we are. So ridiculous.

don't jump to conclusions, we still don't know why this happened and how.
