Forums - Website Topics - What is the quickest browser? eg, firefox, explorer 9, opera browser?

I use Firefox, it's fast enough, but I've never tried anything else.

Opera and FF3 tie in my experience. The new FF 3.0.4 is fab and Opera is as well. Pick and choose, you'll make a good decision regardless when these two are involved!

I'm the resident Opera fanboy... I even wrote a hench off post some time ago explaining why Opera was so great.

Hang on, I'll find it.

(Also Chrome is faster, but it has a massive overhead, whilst Opera is still very light).

I use Opera. In my experince it is quite a bit faster than Explorer, and a tiny bit faster than Firefox.

I have not tried Chrome yet.

Didn't take too long. I used Opera to find it.

I like Opera because I can set it up just the way I like, and have all my favorite sites conveniently accessible

Opera is the fastest, but there are a few addons on FF3 that keep me. In general I prefer Opera.
Google Chrome's ability to kill a tab without killing the whole window is really cool, but it costs in overhead.
The new IE is actually not that bad. If you have to use IE (like at work) it is a good idea to get it updated.

^ Are you talking new as in 8, or as in 7? As I must admit, the tab grouping in 8 looks pretty sweet... but all of the next versions of browsers will probably include that (I know that there's been a few threads on it on the Opera forums).

I found IE to be the fastest, FF3 seems really slow for some reason.
