Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Capcom comments on a new Resident Evil for the Wii

I think the Wii can never have enough remakes. It's a revolution in game controls. Every shooter ever should be remade on the Wii. I'd be down for some online classic shooters like Quake and Time Splitters and stuff.

What the Wii needs most though is a 2 player co-op game where somebody's driving with Wii's awesome steering controls, and somebody else is shooting out of the car with Wii's awesome point-and-shoot controls. It could be called Wii Drive By.

damn dumb devs couldnt come up with awesome idea like that, a game like that would own

heres what id like to see from capcom is a game kinda like mercenry mode in RE4. Have huge arenas, several charcater/weapon choices and then you offgo. plus id would be cool it you could select the level of intensity and aim of the game eg. get loads of points or just try to survive as long as you can. thats would be awesome.

i dont get the capcom hate. ther were the best third party in wii's early life, just cos sega has ovetaken them doesnt make capcom bad. there giving us MHIII and spyborgs afterall

I'm buying RE5 for my PS3 at day one,and disagree with many of you about a "better Wii option" I would take anytime a high profile game like this on a HD system, why?
Because the graphs, the AI,the element's number on-screen,the better online...all of this is much significant to me than any motion controls.
It's about opinions, and Capcom is covering every system altogether.

Why would you give a crap about online or multiplayer in a Resident Evil game? For that matter, when has having a large number of enemies on screen ever made a difference to the quality of a Resident Evil game? AI? For the most part they are zombies. Their AI is supposed to be pretty zombie like. I could see an argument more for something like Nemesis, but you don't need a lot of procesing power for one creature's AI.

Graphics you can have an ok argument with, and I guess part of the "charm" of a lot of Resident Evil was the insufferable controls, so I guess you will get the full experience if that's what you prefer.

I'm not saying that Resident Evil should stick with Wii controls, but most of the arguments you cite might make sense for some games, but in this case they seem out of place and lazy. Not every game benefits from online play and more characters.

Why wouldn't online be a big part. Drop in co-op is a big new feature of RE 5. And Left 4 Dead can vouch for the awesomeness of having tons of enemies on the screen with excellent AI. Even if they are "zombies"

Lord please no.  Resident Evil is a survival action horror adventure.  You HD shooter fans must not turn it into a shooter with a ton of zombies.

Haven't RE4 and UC been successful for the past year? I mean, the Wii did get Monster Hunter, Capcom has to have some faith in the system. I just don't think that RE will be coming >_>

Re5 ist possible on the wii.

They say now its not possible because they want to show how technical good RE5 is (by the way: it isn't technical very impressive) on the ps360.

At the end of 2009 the wii gamer will get their re5 with superior controls and good graphics.

And I would buy both on the 360 and Wii just to compare, the same I did with RE4 on the PS2 and GC.

No, they won't. Even if it is easily doable by the Wii, it's pretty clear you guys will not get all the content of the x360/ps3 versions. Capcom would much more likely make something wii-specific than a stripped down re5 port.

He didn't write that it would get all the content, just better controls and good graphics.
