Parental Controls have been enhanced, USB keyboard support is available for the Mii Channel, and system functions have been improved.  I hope this will help fix that freezing Wii problem that occurs when switching channels.

I just had a look at the Nintendo (Kyoto) website for more information about the 3.4J update. It's interesting that they don't mention any of the above items (from the NOA website), but instead mention two other specific improvements: an improvement in read/write speeds for some SD cards, and an improvement in Wii disk read performance.

an improvement in Wii disk read performance.

So it will reduce some kinds of lag in games? That's nearly as good as the PSP update increasing the processor clockspeed.

Really? Then you've really got a louzy SD card. I have Sandisk Extreme III 2.0GB, writes games to and from the card within a few seconds... and that... before the update.

Hopefully this will stop the pirates for a little while.

The update doesn't stop pirating. It just deletes the homebrew channel and hacked save files if they exist on the wii. and yes, I updated, and it didn't do much for the system except keyboard use in the mii channel.

I'm not a fanboy, I just don't enjoy dual analog control.  It's d-pad or wii-mote for me.

the conduit has changed the way wii play games.

I know.  I'm sick of the puns too.

For all of those who say that they won't download, Ninty can distribute the update with game discs.

Sucks for them fighting with homebrew. Why??

I already updated it, actually I didn't notice a difference....
