I thought We Ski was 2nd party, dk why read it somewhere

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

I never thought this game was going to be good, let alone the definitive version, but I guess I was proved wrong.

It actually looked good in the hi-res video. The clothes were blowing on the Snowboarder pretty "realistically".

Finally the Wii gets the definitive version of something. Props to the developer for not taking the usual "port the PS2 version, add a few motion controls, profit" method.

COD: WAW says hi

If memory serves, the 360 and PS3 versions got a 9.2 while the Wii version but a 8.0.

Yup. But that's half the result of Bozon being an idiot, and half the result of the Wii version not containing a lot of the modes in the PS360 versions. When a Wii FPS contains less features than Halo 2 on the Xbox, it's a lazy effort.

I never thought the Wii version of COD: WAW was a port? OR IS IT? Im answering the original question BTW...

And I never care for reviews anymore, its just surprising a Ubisoft game gives a score higher than 8.0

end of core gaming days prediction:

E3 2006-The beginning of the end. Wii introduced

E3 2008- Armageddon. Wii motion plus introduced. Wii Music. Reggie says Animal crossing was a core game. Massive disappointment. many Wii core gamers selling their Wii.

E3 2010- Tape runs out

The Wii version of Shaun White is strikingly different from the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 games -- instead of scaling down the graphics of the other consoles so that Wii owners get the ugly step child port, the developers wisely built a unique Nintendo SKU with stylized, cartoonish visuals. The result is one of the best-looking Wii games around. Even better, the motion controls feel great, and the balance board turns out to be a fine snowboard.

I whis this will ring a bell on many lazy developers. :D

Since i got BB,i'll buy this game tomorrow and see what i can do with it Xd

Pretty good considering its the 1st non Nintendo title to use the BB. I guess with time programmers will get better experienced at ensuring accuracy with the boards movement, but untill then we'll see how they go with Skate

Are you serious?  A non-nintendo game which used the BB came out before the BB was even out (at least in US).  Anyway, there are plenty of games which use the BB.

It was a Namco game and came out before Wii Fit.  Even Tetris Party uses the balance board.  Of course, We Ski came out so long ago in Japan the 2nd version is already out there.

not bad at all... i was actually considering buying this game cause i miss SSX

I *loved* SSX Tricky, it's one of my favorite games of all time, but man those games just kept going downhill.  They tried to make them have more of an open world feel and tried to place them in a more realistic setting and that just lost a lot of the fun for me.

The just starting at the top of the mountain was fun but having to ski to get to where I want to go was a pain in the ass.  I just want to go to whatever race and go.  I don't want to have to start somewhere and then ski somewhere else (and pray I don't miss the entrance) to play the level.

;_;

umm you dont ski on a snowboard. duh. ;)

hells yeah tricky was the BOMB. It's Tricky, Tricky Tricky Tricky!!!

@ op -will check this one out. I have a balance board. worth a rent to see if its worth buying

Me and my roommates use to have nightmares to that song :-p

This game must have not been made by Ubisoft. J/K

I never personally thought that Ubisoft didn't care at all for making good games on the Wii, they just hadn't made many. They did make a few good games and I'm sure they will make more. I'm just glad to hear about another 3rd party game getting a very good review. Hopefully it sells well.

I'll come up with something better eventually...
