Since this is becoming the subject of this thread, to tell it honestly killzone 2 have lost its luster since E3 2006 anyway. The only ones hyping this game are hardcore SONY fanboys that somehow this game can be a system seller. But even fanboys of PS3 knew its game over for them, better switch to 360...

That's definitely what I plan to do.  Once your favorite system doesn't sell well enough its obvious that you have to move on to another one.  It's what I like to call the "total toolbag who follows general public opinion without a single bit of selfworth and can't make a decision on what he likes more without looking at sales" system.  It's worked well for me up 'til now, so I guess I'd better keep to it.

Its the truth, the reason why the PS3 isnt on 20 million mark yet, dont let the brand loyalty blind you. Why would you buy a console when there is another console which is cheaper that have the games that that console have? Multiplat games like COD 4 and more exclusive games than that console have like fable 2, Halo 3 and Gears of War 2 and have more features than that console have like xbox live?

end of core gaming days prediction:

E3 2006-The beginning of the end. Wii introduced

E3 2008- Armageddon. Wii motion plus introduced. Wii Music. Reggie says Animal crossing was a core game. Massive disappointment. many Wii core gamers selling their Wii.

E3 2010- Tape runs out

KZ2 will be a game on par with Halo 3. Both piss all over what the Wii has or will ever have in terms of shooters. As for better switch to 360, that's something more fitting for a Wii owner, not a PS3 one.

And how do you know? The first Killzone isnt even that good how come this will be better? And whats with the delays? Are SONY afraid to release this game in time for the holiday season?

Because I'm not an idiot, I chose based on what exclusive games I want and I know are coming. I don't care for Fable 2, Halo 3, at all and I can live without GeoW2. Your accusation that I only make my choices based on brand loyalty disgusts and disappoints me, I thought you were smarter than that. I am happy of my choice with the PS3, it is by far my most used console and I have enjoyed using it for these past 2 years.

Stop acting as though every PS3 owner is only doing so due to blind faith, and not because they made a logical decision on their own. And if you actually think that there are no logical reasons to choose a PS3 over any of the other consoles, well then I'm even more disappointed.

As for how do I know, read http://news.vgchartz.com/news.php?id=2527, see trailers that include real time gameplay (or engine based graphics at least), some beta footage on youtube, or heck, even ask some of the beta testers we have on here. If you want to ask them, I'll talk to them and tell them that you want to ask them about the beta... I won't give their names out freely, maybe they don't want to talk about it =P

Actually, the games been done for a while, its just Sony didnt want to release KZ2 and R2 in the same market and take sales away from eachother.

I agree that the Conduit as a game has too much responsibility being places on it. It's like it's the ONLY hardcore game coming in 2009 which is untrue.

...Realistically 2009 is the year of the Hardcore for The Wii, The Conduit is a small piece. 2009 itself should determine if the Wii can be the Hardcore alternative or not.

The one area where I disagree with the OP is that it's a LOCK that HVS won't be able to make a decent game. No one thought or KNEW that Media Module could pull off LBP, yet it was able too. Before that they had few games that will be remembered.

The Interweb is about overreaction, this is what makes it great!

...Imagine how boring the interweb would be if everyone thought logically?

This notion that a developer like HVS is incapable of making a good original game, based on their long backlog of various ultra-low budgeted license titles they’ve done to make ends meet for a variety of publishers and original projects they’ve co-developed (America’s Army is also made by Red Storm Entertainment) is absurd.

This is allegedly this team’s very first truly independent major project, and they have funded and worked on this entirely themselves without a publisher specifically to avoid any outside company influencing their game until it near completion. That doesn’t mean it will be a success, but to claim it’s a failure based on what HVS’s people have actually called their “bread and butter” is ridiculous.

If you look at De Blob’s developer, Blue Tongue, you’ll see they’ve made almost mostly average to poorly received license games, many of which involve Nicktoon characters. Yet De Blob itself, their latest game, was very well received and outshined games like Lost Planet on Metacritic. (A very high budget, highly marketed game from a very reputable publisher and developer) And in likelihood, will also be more fondly remembered as well.

Interesting, I didn't know that. Well, smart move then...

The question is... will it sale or becoming a system seller same did with Halo and Gears of War? Games that put MS in gaming world. Maybe it will be good maybe a great or awesome game but can it live it to the hype? Thats what happened now with LBP just look what happened...
