As Darth has said its just business

Not only is it 'business' tactics, but it's good for consumers.  I always find it odd when people complain about price drops as if it's a bad thing.   I love when console makers compete for my business.  When Sony finally buckles to market realities and drops their price, I will gladly buy their console.   Yay competition!

Too bad people are too busy (as usual) with trolling and bashing around here than answering people's questions

Its only because the hardware of the 360 is crap or else I wouldn't care about this stupid war.

check ps3forums, and you will get numerous ps3 user reported errror, mainly related to blueray.

Business shouldn't equal immoral. Trying to make a profit from consumers (rather than selling at a loss like Sony to offer better value) and hurting another company that employs thousands of people is wrong.

I know that comment was posted a few pages back (and I haven't read all replies) but I just couldn't help but reply to this one.

Every company HAS TO make profit from their consumers or else it's gonna go bankrupt. Microsoft is not some evil empire that wants to ruin peoples lives and put Sony out of business.

Sony is selling at loss because very few people would have bought a $800 or $900 PS3 at launch. It's not because they want to give customer better value, they just figured out that losing x dollars on each console was worth it because they'll make it back someday with software sales.

All Microsoft did was invest in a market it thought would be profitable for them in the mid-long term and now they're doing all they think could help them achieve their goal. It's as simple as that.

Signature goes here!

This is the exact reason why restructuring happened at sony. they realized they were in danger.

As to all those people who say sony was arrogant, its not arrogance that did them in. It's an occurence called "group think". They simply had too many people saying yeah yeah yeah when they should have been saying no no no.
The thing is, yeah yeah yeah worked before, twice.

I love how you are offering an insider account of sony's decision making.  So... how long have you worked as an upper level manager at sony?

This is exactly what sony themselves have said.

cheating is the perfect way to win.

Are you saying that Microsoft is any different than Sony or Nintendo?  I guess you aren't familar with Sony 'stealing' games from Nintendo or Nintendo's unfair business violations.

Sony didn't steal FF from Nintendo. It wasn't their fault that Nintendo wanted to go with a cartridge medium for the N64.

My most anticipated games:  Whatever Hideo Kojima is going to do next, Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Gran Turismo 5, Alan Wake, Wii Sports Resort.  Cave Story Wiiware.

Just like Microsoft has every right to have third party titles for the 360. Sony didn't steal anything and neither is Microsoft.

Man, this is like the "Square betrayed Sony" all over again.
