Forums - Sales Discussion - LBP dropped to 66K in NA (3rd week) , good or bad ?

It is doing fabulously for a new IP.

As an interesting anecdote, I saw this guy at my work yesterday with a gamestop bag with a green cart inside. I said, "Hey, did you just buy Gears of War" and he replied, "What's Gears of World?"

Turns out he bought COD WAW, which he called COD5 har har har.
After talking to him he bought it because of a long history he had with cod since the first one on PC. So, yes although it is only anecdote, new IP's have a hard time selling. This sales pattern is a good one.

I think the sales are doin' just fine.

It'll be fine. People in this thread want this game to fail. Thats the sad part.

Console Agnostic since 2001.

No...people don't want the game to fail, but it isn't expected to be a console pusher. The bundles will probably push the games sales, but based on units of the stand alone game it isn't a console pusher.

The sad part is that the people on this website are so assdeep in their own opinions, they are unable to hear anyone else but themselves. As I said, this game was sold out in the shops near me. Part of that could be because I live in a bustling metropolitan city. The other part could be that they are only able to print up and package so many game discs in the time since the game was recalled for the Koran issue.

Why VGChartz member commentaries and analysis are all worthless: you (or the overwhelming majority of you) enter these discussions with biases and predetermined conclusions. As scientists and analysts, you fail. As fanboys, you win.

Not as much as Halo 3 they didn't.

jsf, the point of these forums is to talk about news and stuff. Discussing numbers or business strategy is obviously not on the menu.

is it really suprising since 1 its a new ip so most consumers wont recongise the name on the shelves and 2 the amount of hot titles out this week like gears 2, resistance 2, naruto ultimate ninja storm, and a few other titles

what is surprising is the vgchartz audience.
