It seem LBP sold 400k+ in USA alone which put overall sales around 450k in NA.

I didn't attempt to generalize the pro-ps3 community.  I said "many" pro-ps3 posters, not all.  I added the qualifier specifically to avoid an attempt at generalization.  There are also pro-ps3 posters who post in a way I find very refreshing.

What I'm becoming very frustrated with is having an innocuous thread completely overrun when someone finds it necessary to effectively "shout down" any opposing voice.  My experience has largely been with part of the pro-ps3 community doing this, probably because I tend to focus my attention primarly on 360-related threads.  Case in point... I created a thread a week or two after the most recent 360 price cuts, with the title "The 360 price cut seems to have had some effect."  Then I went on in the OP to explain it didn't set the world on fire, but did seem to help 360 sales to some extent.  Within a short period of time the thread was overrun with comments expressing how it was a fluke, would be short-lived, etc.  There were so many negative posts that it was difficult to really find the posts that were serious discussions of what the effect had been.

Yeah, I'm venting.

I'll get off my rant now.

OT: yes, I believe LBP will be a great success.  I'm not sure how big "huge" is, but it has a very strong start and is likely the kind of title to have long legs.

So honestly, I think the actual release (week 1) was weak.  Week 0 was phenominal for being a recall issue.  The week 1 sales could be influenced by poor post recall distribution so week 2 might be higher than expected.

That being said, This game has such a unique style with it's online mp that it could have some seriously long nice legs.

Even Too Human sold 390000 week one and that was considered a HUGE flop, didn't have anywhere near the advertising push that LBP has, or any bundles like LBP.
On the PS3, Haze sold 430000 week one WW and again has been considered a HUGE flop although selling far more than it should have.

LBP has done between 390000-590000 week one depending on how generous you want to be so not far off the levels seen by these two flops.

Everyone says that LBP will have huge legs, but this remains to be seen. The fact that it's bundled in many countries will obviously help. At the end of the day, it's a hardcore game pretending to be casual on a console that's priced outside of a casual gamers budget.

because so many LBP defender if 500K is huge, then they said was LBP is MEGA huge. they think LBP will > 2 mil for opening week.

i don't think LBP will have long leg, considering so many upcoming good games
and remember PS3 is not for kid. mostly it is for adult.

I don't even know why he is labeled  that. Besides that one thread about sexuality ....oh and the fact that he acted like a ps3 fanboy while owning 360 and wii only.
