Platformers aren't my favorite games to begin with but I'm pretty sure Star Fax Adventures would be considered a platformer. It may also be an action game.


It's an action/adventure game, a Zelda like.

This is not a platformer. Like I said you can't even jump, it's all automatic.

Yes they do. 3D Platformers aren't platformer games at all, they are just average treasure hunting, something I can do much better in my backyard.

They have platforming in them as the main part of the gameplay, so they are platformers, and many of them are very good games. (I know that 2D works better for some games, like Mario, but 3D platformers have their place too)

I hope this doesn't turn into an infinate loop :S

They are more about resolving little puzzles like frozeing the water or pressing 8 switches before the time rans out, far of what a platformer is

You're the one dissapointing me. And Donkey Kong Country Returns will sell more than SMG 2. If I win this bet, I will say that 3D platformers are better than 2D in my sig for one week. If not, my point will be proven.

Awesome (80 plus Metascore)Wii Platformers: Mario Galaxy 1 & 2, New Super Mario Bros Wii, Donkey Kong Country Returns, Kirby's Epic Yarn, De Blob, Super Paper Mario, A Boy and his Blob, Lego Star Wars

total: 9

As you can see the wii has more awesome platformers than the N64. Note that I did not include wiiware games also if you inlcuded wiiware and the virtual console for the wii, then the wii would have alot more awesome platformers than the N64.

Well automatic jumping is too Star Fox Adventures what on-rail is to most FPS's on the Wii. Yet we still consider them FPS's. So I still consider it a platformer. Just like I consider Ratchet a platformer.
