Shuppet you get by breeding it's evolved form. And in the last sentence there you kinda contradicted yourself. As that what we've been saying.
Even if you've got the Game Pak inserted, you don't have to have those Pokemon on the other game and transfer them, you just find them in the wild. Tbh though, you're just nitpicking.

Point taken. All of this kinda spiraled out of control from two smalls posts by Fazz and StarCraft Maniac further up. When they were talking about acquiring all 450, Maniac mentioned that he did have any of the GBA games so I then said that you will not be able to organiacally (naturally) catch all of them then because you either have to transfer them from the GBA games OR at least have the game inserted in the slot.

Either way without the GBA games you won't be able to get all the Pokemon, I think we can all agree on that, so if you take that as a concession of defeat....fine. My point still stands that without a GBA game you can't capture SOME pokemon even thought the vast majority are available.

 Glad to see it all got sorted out reasonably maturely in the end.

There are 425 pokemon that can be aquired in each version (diamond/pearl) and the 2 versions combined have 450.   The only pokemon you cannot get in both versions combined are every single starter pokemon and legendaries from all the previous games. (and 3 event pokemon)  The game is big though, and the towns are bigger.  As for the 8 badges, thats just pokemon for you.  It fits the standard layout.  God and Silver had 16, but geting the 8 from the Kanto region doesnt take much longer to do than exploring the new area you get after beating the elite four in Diamond, Pearl.



A delayed game is good someday, a bad game is bad forever.

I dunno...you tell me? I hardly played any of the games before. Everyone called me a sinner for not growing up with Pokemon...and since this game is much like the previous ones, I gave it a shot.

Im in all of the games... But when i was at 30-70%... I found another game which i wanted to add to my collection... And allas, i played the new one. Without going back to the old one cuzz then i'd already have a new one.

Ow... Just wanted to say this: I just got a DSlite!... ... Really nice!... Now i have eehrm... A DSphat Blue limited edition. And a White DSlite... And i like it! I'm playing Pokémon Diamond on it... Kinda like the old ones! But its nice!

And just to get this straight:

So we have 8 badges?!

And u CAN catch 450 pokémon in THE WILD. but the other 30 u have to get from the other versions?!...

 

Btw: Online is nice, NICE NICE!!!


haha. me too. in the middle of Super Paper Mario, Geist, FF Crystal Chronicles, Pokemon Diamond, last case in Phoenix Wright, Trauma Center DS, Red Steel, Excite Truck, Super Monkey Ball Wii, FF 1 and 2, Fire Emblem GCN, Fire Emblem GBA, Battalion Wars, PoP Warrior Within, Summoner Goddess Reborn, Baten Kaitos Origins, Beyond Good and Evil, Metroid Prime Hunters, etc. Thankfully I got through Godfather, Timesplitters 2, and Diddy Kong Racing. Does Mario Strikers Charged have a fun design?


Yeah... The game  is LOADS of fun, especially with friends and online!... But after ~10 hours you get tired of it... And you only play it now and then. It's worth a purchase, but nothing REALLY special.
