Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Sega: Wii Is "The Most Expensive Board Game On Earth"

that's true for me, my Wii is actually boxed up until Wii Sports 2 or something.

Well... the attach ratio and how well the Wii software sells (a lot lot more than the PS3) proves that that is not true.

=p

In fact, if you take into account the attach ratio of the Wii with that huge install base, compared to the PS3 install base and attach rate, a lot more people are playing the Wii than the PS3.

I think it has something to do with wii sports and wii play, but I wont get in a fight about it

Lol and here is the number 1 answer of Wii Fans.
Lets Boycott more publishers !

2k has been under Take Two for several years by the way..........

PS3-Xbox360 gap : 1.5 millions and going up in PS3 favor !

PS3-Wii gap : 20 millions and going down !

SW: TFU, Madden '09 told me to say hello. PS3 outsells Wii in software even with its smaller userbase.

There may be exceptions, but the PS3 usually outsells the Wii in software... unless the software we're talking about is shovelware. So far, not many quality games sold well on Wii. Compare to PS3... and your statement is stright from dreamland.

If they produce nothing but crap for awhile and now talk trash then the boycott has already been in effect for me even though I used to like Sega a lot.  There isn't one game they produced the past 2-3 years that I even care to play.

another opinion that some people can't stand to hear.

don't boycott sega... or at least don't boycott valkyria chronicles.

Don't boycott Sega for the sake of quality games on all platforms. They've gained lots of respect with me after Yakuza, VC, Bayonetta, and the Megadrive collection.

You can count me out of buying anything Sega for awhile. They have produced nothing but shit for awhile though. Do they even own 2k Sports anymore or did 2k break off from Sega or stop producing titles under Sega?

Madworld, HotD and The Conduit are all being published by Sega. They're actually publishing some good games for the wii.

Haha...boycott Sega? This boards Wii fans have been praising sega for over a year now. Saying how Sega is one of the few publishers making wii games.

Fine, boycott sega...house of dead, madworld, sonic unleashed, sonic and the blakc knight, the conduit. Pretty much every non nintendo game worthwhile on the wii...kiss them alll good bye.

This is factually incorrect, Xen. The Wii sells more software even considering the PS3's install base, not in spite of it: that is, if the Wii and PS3 had exactly identical install bases, the Wii would still have more software sold. The people arguing software sales are correct. The Wii has a better attach rate than the PS3 in America and Japan (and at times Europe, depending on who has just had a big game come out). If the Wii is a machine people only pull out occasionally, why does it sell so much software?

Sega is in fact a wonderful example of this: look at their Wii and PS3/360 sales.

Sonic and Mario is their best selling game of all time for any system
Ghost Squad has outsold Virtua Fighter. Ghost Squad! Virtua Fighter!
Sonic and the Secret Rings has sold more than twice as much as Sonic for 360 or PS3 combined.

There are likely more (Vikings bombed, The Club bombed, etc), but that should be enough. The Wii sells too much software for this argument to make sense.
