jjseth you really dont have any argument here except that you might be really ignorant of what "sold" for companies is and what "sold" for retailers is.

If they tacked on another 100K, how does this help "you" unless you work for one of those companies?

It's possible that I could invest in some of these companies.  And yes, those numbers do make a difference if it means my investment could be doing better if the numbers were recorded correctly.

jjseth it's really not hard to understand. No one insulted you till you started calling the site and the mods Wii fanboys simply because you didn't understand the situation which was explained very concisely and clearly in TheSource's post. I'm sorry that you don't understand, and people shouldn't insult you because of that, but that doesn't give you the right to insult others or the mods (and believe me TheSource is no fanboy) simply because you can't understand this situation.

I don't think the 5.5 million needs to be changed - for all we know Sony hasn't made a PS3 since March 31. I mean they are trying to get rid of the current model of PS3 for the new model - so that number is accurate.

Sony is not lying here. They changed their system because Sony needed people to realize they are still selling units even though they likely stopped making new 60 gig units - which would have made it seem as if PS3 has stopped selling - which it obviously has not.
