Forums - Gaming Discussion - Circuit City closing 700 stores due to economic crisis!

I just saw on the news that circuit city is closing 700 stores because they are not making enough money due to economic crisis! This is so sad. Circuit City is where I bought the PS2! This is bad for gaming. Gaming sales could decrease because there will be less stores to go to purchase consoles and games!

This doesn't surprise me, but I doubt it's just because of the economy. I used to shop there frequently, but over the past 2 years I've seen a big shift in the local stores: employees fleeing at the site of a customer, weird selection mixes, lack of selection in some products (I looked for a DVD player last year for my parents, only to find that the store closest to us carried exactly 3 models of DVD player).

I quit shopping there after last Christmas, and I haven't been back. Why go there when the selection at Best Buy is 10 times better?

So what.......

will there be any sales? Otherwise i can care less if they are closing, i never go to circuit city.

"If new things are so great, where have they been the whole time?"

Only off by 545 stores. >_>

The last thing I bought at Circuit City was... Sonic and the Secret Rings. That was a while ago.

Why go to Circuit City when there's a Best Buy, Target, GameStop and Toy's R Us within 1 minute from it? Their parking lots aren't a clusterfuck like the one at Circuit City either.
