Forums - Sales Discussion - SONY and FF13 conquers UK

Due to the thread title alone, this deserves no replies or posts... Washimul, how much lower can you go... (how old are you again? You did learn that "XII" in roman numerals is actually 12 - not 13?)

Yet another incorrect statement... have a look at GoldenEye on the N64 in Japan - or doesn't that count as a FPS? (didn't even bother to check out other FPS's...). Keep digging, I'll buy you another shovel...

ughhhh...guess you won't listen to reason about being fanboyish. Anyway yes that is awesome that FF12 sold so well. I think it foreshadows what is to come w/ FF13. and yes 360 is dead in Japan. I don't even think Lost Oddesy will do much more to help it. However, I could be wrong.

Does anyone know first day numbers in Europe?

Don't be sorry for Capcom, Lost Planet already sold more than 2 millions worldwide.

LP hasnt barely crossed 1 m worldwide.................in JAPAN it is a massive flop with just 50k copies. In Europe it has died now due to the ps3 effect. In order to be profitable CAPCOM needs to sell in all territorities...........In JAPAN they lost over 18 million dollars

Halo, Halo 2, Medal Of Honour Frontline (PS2), Medal Of Honour Rising Sun (PS2) and Metroid Prime all sold more than 100K units; in fact Medal Of Honour Frontline sold (rougly) 175,000 units ... Edit: If you wanted the First FPS to break 100k in Japan it would be Goldeneye 64 selling (approximately) 130k units, and Perfect Dark also sold about 160k units.
you are talking about the entire lifetime. In the entire lifetime RESISTANCE would ofcourse exceed 200k in JAPAN.

IN UK last year the no1 console was DS followed by PSP and PS2..........now the same trend continues but u add Wii in between PSP and PS2 the last console is X360. ps3 is being launched with 30 titles including RESISTANCE, F1, Vf5, MOTORSTORM, OBLIVION and FEAR. do you think there would be room for x360 to be even in the chart......especially with advd drive + watered down processor + overheating issues + poor gaming library................virtually UK becomes X360's morgue after MARCH

The thing that will help Sony out in all of the country's is FF, DQ, and KH from Square Enix. Mostly FF and DQ for Japan and KH for America.
