Forums - General Discussion - Sarah Palin cleared in Troopergate

And it happens on election day.  Little too late.

wonder if all the mainstream media who made such a big deal of it will apologize.

Oh but the left doesn't apologize so I won't expect it.

yea the left are so mean arn't they? Not starting wars, giving money to poor people, what assholes.

That was the second finding btw. The first found her guilty or liable.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

After Palin was selected as Sen. John McCain's running mate, her attorneys attempted to take the investigation out of the hands of the legislative investigator by asking her handpicked three-person State Personnel Board to look into the matter.

So her handpicked board cleared her. Shocking.

Mrjuju is correct

The bipartisan ordered inquiry with independent investigators concluded that Sarah Palin abused her power and violated state ethics law.

Her handpicked board of employees that work directly for her and were assigned by her predecessor (or maybe some were assigned by her as well), cleared her! What a surprise!

This exonerates nothing.

So she presumably didn't abuse her power... Now she only has dozens of things going against her instead of dozens plus 1.

For example, I was quite shocked when I read the story about her taking her daughters in dozens of official state trips at the expense of the state (plane trips, hotel rooms, etc).

Wow, what great timing. The real board, that was bipartisan (but mostly Republican) UNANIMOUSLY found her guilty. Her own cute little 3-person panel that she organized later (too little too late) found her innocent the day before we vote. How convenient. What a fucking pathetic joke from a pathetic crook.

Yeah, because politicians NEVER use tax-payer money for their own purposes right?

Hey, you forgot to mention the $150,000 in clothes the RNC purchased for her over the past 2 months... THE HORROR!

The Obama campaign would never spend an exhorbant amount of money on trivial things just for a political campaign right... oh wait, they only spent $5.3 MILLION for the stage setup for Obama's nomination... 5.3 million dollars for one night.  Or how about the tens of millions spent to air that 30 minute infomercial... again, for ONE NIGHT!  Just think of how many poor people that money could clothed and feed buy votes for!

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

@NightDragon83: Oh, the "other people do it too" defense? Good, really good.

Also, why are you comparing campaign money to taxpayer money? It's really different as I'm sure you know. Campaign money is to be used as the campaign decides, taxpayer money is not to be used on gifts for politicians' families.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

The left approved the war and they steal money.  When do they give to the poor?
