Forums - General Discussion - The Official "I Voted" Thread

Voted about an hour ago in Virginia, which this year is a swing state.  Hasn't voted democrat since 64, but this'll be the year I'm sure of it.

This is the first time I've gone voting in my locality and seen something other than cranky old white people in line.  I've seen other twenty somethings and minorities actually voting this time.... in the past the youngest people I would see were late 30's at minimum.

And I live in the solid red areas of VA!  So this fills me with hope :)

If you haven't voted, get out there and vote.  Whether Repub or Democrat or Indepedent, just make sure you feel like you're voting for the best man for the job and make that vote happen.  No excuses!

And for lazy, broke college students that might not feel like voting - here's some election day freebies for you!

"Dr. Tenma, according to you, lives are equal. That's why I live today. But you must have realised it by now...the only thing people are equal in is death"---Johann Liebert (MONSTER)

"WAR is a racket. It always has been.

It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives"---Maj. Gen. Smedley Butler

I just voted for Obama in Oakland, California. We're totally going Obama, but I also just voted for America's first high speed bullet train, that could connect San Diego, Los Angeles, Oakland, San Francisco, and Sacramento for cleaner, safer, faster, cheaper travel across the state. It could cost me $25 to go back to L.A. instead of $45 on a Greyhound bus (or about $25 with a CraigsList rideshare) and it'll be faster, safer, and cleaner. BOOYAH. I also voted to protect gay marriage. BOOYAH.

Ah yes, somehow I missed that.  Oh well, unlike a lot of other states, today is the only election day for VA :P  We didn't get early voting unfortunately

Voted for McPalin in Ohio, and mostly Republican leadership on the State level. Mostly Dems in local elections (went 50/50 with them).

Voted to strike down loansharking (aka payday loans), and give them the same rules as credit cards.
Also voted to strike down the possibility of casinos in Ohio.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.
