The following support characters, each accompanied by an additional single player mission, will be available for free download from the PLAYSTATION®Network for the PLAYSTATION 3 system on the dates below:

  • November 6, 2008: Shizune
  • December 4, 2008: Asuma
  • December 18, 2008: Kurenai
  • January 8, 2009: Anko
  • January 22, 2009: Jirobo
  • February 5, 2009: Kidoumaru
  • February 19 2009: Tayuya
  • March 5, 2009: Sakon"

I Think a lot of these games (Like soul Calibur ) Actually have the dlc already on the disk. I think you pay to Unlock it.

I think you are wrong... When you purchase it from the online store it clearly downloads something...

 

As for the online mode it seems Namco creating a patch to allow it would make more sense than having it as downloadable content, but then again I could be wrong seeing as how motorstorm added time trial mode as downloadable content. In arguement to this though Little big planet is getting online multiplayer map creation mode through a patch, so I guess its just up to Namco. (and if they want to charge you money to be able to play online)

I must say I'm rather proud of Namco for actually offering the content for free, it seems like in todays world of online content nothing comes free anymore...kudos to you Namco!
