Phantom Hourglass is selling over twice as fast as Twilight Princess

A quick comparison of sales from launch shows that in five weeks Zelda: Phantom Hourglass has already sold over 650,000 units compared to 290,000 for Zelda: Twilight Princess in the same timeframe. In fact total sales of Phantom Hourglass have already eclipsed Twilight Princess proving that Japanese gamers prefer the cell-shaded style.

That or they want to play Zelda on the move rather than at home?

Japanese people are slaves they don't really have weekends liek we do. So everything they game now is mainly on the move.

The only tie they have time to play a console is on a sunday or really late at night. Hence why you seeing all thes emini party games sellign well since they short.

I bet most people dont know japanese school kids have to do community service after school. ie clean streets etc.. and they go to school monday to saturday.

I guess the Japanese gaming scene is mostly handhelds nowadays....is console gaming on the decline over there?

It could also be that the DS has sold 6x as much as the Wii in Japan
