Recently I have lost my job due to redundancies with the company I work for. Now I find myself with an extrodinary amount of time to play games while I look for a new job.

Basically because my income will be none existant for the foreseeable future I only have money for about 2 games. I've already decided I'm going to buy football manager 2009 when that drops in 2 weeks, but I need something for my consoles, something that has hours upon hours of gameplay.

At the moment I'm leaning towards Valkyria chronicles, but not sure how long this game is, is it like a 20hour game or on the scale of a fire emblem game? I borrowed fallout 3 from a friend but it really isn't my type of game.

Any suggestions? I own all 3 consoles so I'm not limited in my choice...???

Well, Resistance 2 will be packing some hours (http://vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=47467), but that isn't out until the 28th in the UK. You could import it from the US if you are so inclined, it will be out on the 4th over there.

Get Baldurs Gate 2. That should do it.

Resistance 2, it is said to take 240 hours to unlock everything

maybe Fable 2, though it probably only takes 20 hours to play through, and 40 hours for everything, but you can have multiple playthroughs to be good or evil

Call of Duty World at War, I certainly spent ages playing 4 online, and this is meant to be very similar

Mass Effect, you can get it cheap (about £20 from game.co.uk I think) and you could have a 50 hour playthrough, and you can play it as different classes and either be good or evil... the possibilities are endless. It is cheap so you can also get Uncharted, which although short, is incredible, and if you can get Mass Effect and Uncharted for the price of 1 game, then you should definitely do it, as ME's length makes up for Uncharted's

Get Valkyria Chronicles. You won't be disappointed. It is said to be 60 hours long.

fable II, and if you have a pc, simcity 4, or civilization IV, or universales rome.

man thats the one game i really want on a 360, though if the ps3 drops in price next year, i might be tempted to buy the system just for that game

Try Baldur's Gate 2. It's old... but I still play it.

not really a PC gamer unless its football manager, so baldurs gate isn't really for me. Also my ps2 is broken and my ps3 has no b/c.

I'm leaning more towards valkyrie chronicles. 60 hours is probably a little more then it took me to complete Fire emblem radiant dawn... and that game really did take over my life!

I think I'm going to get resistance 2 and gears of war for my brother this christmas so I don't really need to get those right now.

Any other suggestions?
