Woah, I see what I said was blown up into sales = quality. I could have probably clarified, but obviously, that isn't what I meant. BrainBoxLtd sort of clarified what I meant to say. Britney Spears may have sold a lot of albums, but does the public still care about her? I doubt many people think she's the greatest thing to happen to music, which is why they stopped listening.
I could be wrong and Khuutra is right (this power being reserved to the academia / intellectual elite), but I'll be damned if the current reviewers of today were considered the "elite." Recall how all of these guys just tossed 10's at GTAIV like nothing - is this game going to be remembered as time passes? Other than the fact it had a ridiculously massive budget, I don't think so. Many gamers were disappointed (while reviewers were not). Those gamers have more control than review scores over what lasts the test of time. (Actually, that's what I mean when I say majority anyway)
edit: @Ari_Gold - It's possible there are many out there who feel the same way. $50 may be too high a price tag for this type of game, as I'm not quite sure how many people are that interested in music. At the very least, if sales aren't amazing it will likely drop to $30 (like Big Brain Academy did). Brain Age wouldn't have sold so well if it weren't priced as it was.
