guys just look at the op. It's not his fault the wii has so many spectacular games that it makes ps3 AAA games look more like A games...

I'm being facetious so don't get so upset.

sorry that the PS3 is suckish. the Wii AAA titles own it in every aspect.

but seriously, I've seen Bioshock-like-games on the PS2 that make Bioshock just seem like a repeat...

maybe it's just because most 360 gamers are just really knew to gaming so they haven't seen these games already

this thread wasn't made for arguing, so don't

I made the mistake of buying Bioshock and Metroid Prime 3 on the same day last year. For whatever reason, Bioshock couldn't hold my attention. A year later, and I still can't fall in love with this game. Yet, it appears to do everything pretty good. Oh well.

Fallout 3 might be the first game to be better. I'm playing Fallout right now and it is pretty damn good (though MAN did they F up the PS3 version. I mean Oblivion was made better for the PS3, wtf? They know how to program on the PS3 so how did they cough this up?)

Fallout 3 and Oblivion, while they're from the same company with the same engine, they're not the same team, probably the Oblivion team knows better the PS3 architecture than the Fallout team...

I really don't care much since that game is going to my gaming rig, Fallout is a PC series for me, besides, the maximum settings look really amazing...

I've just played through the game and I've been wondering the same thing. The game has some original gameplay mechanics and an interesting setting, I don't regret my purchase and I'm looking forward to the sequel. But I really can't understand why it gets all the praise it does.

Nothing within the game hugely stands out, and I actually think that the story is not very good, where 'the story' is defined as the events that occur from the moment you begin the game to the moment you finish it. It's really quite bare except for a couple of interesting twists toward the end, but then the end itself is unfulfilling.

When people talk about the story I assume they are actually referring to the backstory, which is more interesting. But since it is delivered entirely through audio logs and radio messages it falls rather flat. Audio logs are not a good way to deliver a story.

Intellectually I don't think the game has much to say either. It just seems to be a rather hackneyed warning against trying to create a perfect society. I must say it wasn't so predictable that I found it grating, but again I'm not sure why there is praise given to this area.

Anyway, I enjoyed it. I just wonder how it ever came to be one of the highest rated games of all time.

While I will concede that the gameplay itself isn't that innovative, (niether was hlaf life 1 really)
The feel to this game is beyond compare. I played this on PC a long time ago, and it gave me goosebumps. It didn't do really anything new, but it did everything so perfectly and that is why it got an amazing score.
Because it had just enough, and more than enough at the same time.

If the demo is just a little show of how awesome the game is, I´m sold. Repetitive gameplay? Too easy? There some games that fall into both categorys and still are great. Tetris just comes to mind. Old , repetitive, but at any time can steal good 30-50 min of your life. This game is way better than any FPS I´ve played yet and I just tasted the demo.
I feel sorry for you. But it still a AAA+ game.

All i know is this...2K games is kicking themselves right now over the effort for this port...and the special adds to make this game more "special" than the 360 version. The game is barely going to crack 100K WW, and maybe 200K LTD...OUCH doesn't begin to describe this failure to port the game. Somebody WILL be getting a smaller bonus this year...

I beat the game on the 360 and i'm currently playing it again. The game is not great, certain parts are better then others but overall its a solid game. But the later parts of the game go down hill fast, and the ending is bad IMO. I'm not a fan of many games but this is in my top 3 for this gen.
