is another game I wont be getting. I recommend NO PC gamers get it either.

The game contains either Securom OR StarForce which is worse then Securom. Both pieces of spyware software can screw up your software, stop hardware from working properly, and can open your hackers.

Avoid this game at all costs. There has been multiple reports of this game screwing up peoples PCs.

Get real, 95% of all games have either Securom 7 or Safedisk 4 on these days.

If it bothers you that much, just use a nocd crack from the likes of reloaded. They are technically legal, since the nocd itself isn't the actual whole game.

As long as you ONLY install the game, DON'T run it before playing it AT ALL, then apply the nocd patch, THE COPY PROTECTION DRIVE WILL NOT INSTALL ITESELF AS A PROCESS!

I was on the Bethesda official forums, there is Securom. It's not the end of the world, there's no install limit. I also have Daemon Tools running and its not interfering at all. Plus there's a patch too fix this.

doesnt matter if you dont have noticeable performance differences. The darn thing is still installed into main registers of the OS making it so that it runs constantly in the background of your OS without you even knowing it unless you understand the software.

Trust me I have securom installed on my PC thanks to Spore but I dont feel like going through the pain of removing it because it is a MAJOR pain in the rear that could screw up my OS if not done correctly.

This isnt the only game that I have that uses Securom. Fear, Bioshock (whatever it had, but drm has been since removed), i think overlord. Seriously its no big deal. Like mentioned by someone else, just get a nocd crack. not too bad. If you want to pirate, well that's your choice, but I'm supporting the developer here.

Hmm, maybe PC gamers should just accept Securom as an install on their computers, if they want to play some of the best games, legally. Fear, Bioshock, and Fallout 3 are surely worth Securom.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

Has someone been scaring with bullshit stories?

There's a very vocal minority that like to stir up "copy protection" debate. It sounds like they managed to get through to you. Its all hyoerbole.

Like I said, if you don't run the main exe - the protection doesn't ever actuall get installed.

Also like i said before, I don't think you're going to be playing many games as apart from Galactic Civilizations 2 there are practically ZERO big games that don't have protection like Safedisk\Securom very few have Starforce like you mentioned Fallout 3 does and thats only the Russian release. Most games have Starforce there.

As pointlessly rude as Burgles is, he does have a point:

Since we all hate piracy here...

Isn't securom an inevitability to have on your computer, if you want to be a PC gamer?

Also, since you, SSJ12, already have securom on your PC because of spore, why not get Fallout 3, since it's not gonna be putting anything on your PC at all?

NO NO, NO NO NO.

It is weird though Oblivion was practically the proof that games can sell well on the PC without any form of protection.

In what way does it prevent piracy??? that's what you should ask yourself first.

It doesn't prevent piracy at all, if anything it causes it.

However, developers are intent of getting it on our computers, so if we want to play the good games legally on PC we'll have to accept it or stubbornly miss some of the best PC games this gen, as more and more companies adopt DRM.
