Well, duh...I didn't know that . I was indicating that the meaningful goal for Sony is to pass 360 LTD sales (and not worry too much what the 360 was doing 10 months ago) as this will affect which of the two is chosen as the lead development console. I do also acknowledge this will also be affected by sales revenue generated for software publishers and this has already been discussed on another thread which shows the Sony machine to be more than holding its own.
I'm not knocking the PS3. I may get one in the future, and with every AAA game released on the system the argument for making that purchase becomes more compelling. Who knows, maybe the long term results of this console generation will show that the only way Sony would win both the hi-def and the console wars was to accept a painful period in console sales until costs decreased, and Ken Kutaragi's business decisions will be vindicated.
