Forums - Gaming Discussion - Rant: Is Nintendo being honest with consumer?

Wow what a complete wasted of my time. I want a refund on my time after reading this post.

They've never said it would help people in a medical or scientific sense, annd so it doesn't.

Where's the deception? It's as advertised.

Ubuntu. Linux for human beings.

If you are interested in trying Ubuntu or Linux in general, PM me and I will answer your questions and help you install it if you wish.

It's a well known fact that if you don't use it you lose it especially as you get older.
The body and mind are kept fit by using them which is why I'm sure Brian training and wiifit etc would help an elderly persons mind stay more sharp, but so would doing many other activities as well.
So Nintendo are right that the activities involved in their games would help.

I HAVE A TUMOR AHHHHHHHH *runs to my DS*

ITS GONE!!! w00t!! Thank god for nintendo..hehe

My gf's mother plays it too. Not sure about clinical results but she sure enjoys it.
It gives me some sense of satisfaction to see parents interested in gaming.
I don't expect her to be a gamer, but I'm happy to see her having fun.

ROTFLOMA

You can better say which game company is honest anyway as in my eyes... "none" of them are, neither are MS and Sony. And indeed I thought you were gone as well, but probably not nuf ranted about Nintendo ey?

@Omoneru, awwww.. that's sweet ;)

This profile is no longer in use, see my other profile *~Onna76~*

Nintendo never said directly that it can "cure" Alzheimer. I saw the commercial and I understood that it only meant as it can help you have better memory and such. Maybe your mom has misinterpreted the commercial... Still it can help and she could have fun with the game so why not?

About Wii Fit, I don't think it can make someone really fit but it can help people getting progressively more active, like a little start, plus it's fun! So it motivates them to exercise.

I don't think we've seen enough of Wii Fit to judge whether it will actually keep you fit or not. Saying that, saying Wii Fit won't help your fitness is surely the same as saying Yoga doesn't help your fitness? And surely it's proven that it does? (or Millions of people wouldn't do it...).

I don't think anyone believes people are going to lose 20 stone using it or anything, but for the 35+ age bracket who don't have time for the gym and spend 8 hours at an office working I think Wii Fit would benefit them to keep their body active.

But yeah, judge Wii Fit once it's out, it's too much judging it off of one E3 trailer where the focus was clearly going to be on how fun it is then how fit it keeps you, cause well, it was a gaming conference at the end of the day.

Dude, if only Trauma Center worked like that....

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

Of course it won't help on it's own, no single thing will as you can see by reading any of the small print on advertisments for healthy food and diet drinks.

*can help as part of a healthy lifestyle and calorie controlled diet.

So if your a chain smoking mcdonalds eating lazy fat fuck, getting on the wii board for 30 minutes isn't going to do anything to help you.
