Forums - Gaming Discussion - Guitar Hero World Tour dilemma

Tomorrow I'll buy Guitar Hero World Tour. However, I still haven't decided if I should buy it on Wii or Xbox 360. Here's the list of reasons for Wii and Xbox 360:

Wii:

- Online (I don't pay live and will never)

- Guitar Hero Tunes (exclusive for Wii since I don't have live)

- Don't need to buy extra batteries

- Pretty much everyone I know has a Wii and no 360

- There is an exclusive Wii jam mode

Xbox 360:

- Compatible with Rock Band

- Better graphics

- Easier to store DLC on HD

- Achievements

- Possible for me to get Guitar Hero II

So I would need help deciding which version I should buy.

How many cups of darkness have I drank over the years? Even I don't know...

This, alone, should justify your purchase. Do you usually go at your friends to play video games? If so, then I guess it would be the perfect time to initiate them to Guitar Hero (if they haven't already)! =P

Besides, other than graphics and ''maybe'' a better sound quality, there's no need for you to get the 360 version. The Wii version has the same features after all!

Random game thought :
Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...

Well, the Rock Band compatiblity is the huge draw to the 360 version.

And I don't think I will flip a coin if that's what you mean Onyxmeth ;)

I'd go with the Wii version. Graphics don't matter much on that game, as you'll spend most of your time looking at the notes.

I also like the Wii guitars betters and I believe they have a longer life than the others.
And the DLC will probably not be that big of a deal, you just have to get an SD card.

Oh, on the Rock Band compatibility, I've read that the guitar will work with RB2.
If that's true, the drum should also be compatible, since they work in the same way.

Yeah all RB/GH instruments are cross compatible between the two games on both PS3/360.

The DLC strategy is supposed to be much improved for GH:WT over their earlier games. They've already adjusted prices downward to match Rock Band, gave the ability to buy individual songs & packs (like RB), and are supposed to commit to a consistent schedule.

I don't think the graphics really matter so wouldn't influence me at least.

I've never used the online Rock Band world tour mode on the 360 version even with most of my friends having the game. For me at least it wouldn't make much bearing on what platform I chose tbh. Online never did much for me on these music games, they seem to be more fun with actual people with you not gamertags online. Other games like shooters and stuff are a different story though.

The friend aspect is probably the wild card though.

Completed X360:
High Def Movie Collection

Get one of your friends to buy GH:WT, and then you could buy it for the 360.......problem solved!

Why not? It worked for Harvey Dent.

Hmmmm...maybe not.

Go with the Wii version.

Well, I have to agree that the fact that my friends have Wiis will take an important part of the decision. I would like to use the online component of the game to share songs. Also, I think I can probably convince some people to buy the game and I will not probably move the drum anyway. And Two-Face is really creepy in that picture...
