This is not a new release. The EVO has been available since October of 2006.

Also, it is not a gaming console. I'm not sure why the press insists on portraying it as that. It's a gaming/media center PC with a form of Linux specially designed for gaming, compatible with most Windows-based games.

This thing that's releasing in November is just a newer version of it. Just like HP begins selling more powerful PCs as new techs come out, Envizions is releasing a more powerful EVO as technology progresses.

Also, this tech is primarily aimed at gaming developers, not gaming hobbyists. Meaning the primary function is for videogame development, not playing them. And developers will probably jump all over it. And Wii, PS3, 360, DS, and PSP games will be what is developed primarily on it. In part, of course. Developers tend to have a pretty wide variety of tools at their disposal.

Linux........seriously?

It's going to fail.

People, this isn't aiming for international market penetration comparable to the other consoles. This is more comaprable ot the Neo GEO, where they're making an extremely limited quantity and focusing on profit-per-unit. It's just like a console version of the Pandora.

And if they're releasing a souped-up version, then they've probably already seen profits.

costs too much. The PS3 is having trouble selling at its 399 price, this will flop. If it was cheaper I would consider it.
