Apparently the EVO is a linux based home gaming console, available Nov 18th. 

This seems like a certain flop to me.  Who is the target demographic ?  Console gamers who want to be able to play PC games on a console ?  With a release of 500 to 1300 units in NA, it just seems pointless. 

Your thoughts ?

UPDATE: The EVO is built around a quad-core Athlon 64x2 5600 clocked at 2.9GHzm, with an ATI HD 3200 graphics chipset and 2GB of DDR2 RAM. It is said to support 1080p video resolution, says Envizions. The system is equipped with dual Ethernet and USB ports, a game controller, a 120GB or 250GB hard drive, plus "virtual unlimited online cloud storage."

Features that appear to match the "system of tomorrow" slogan include a customized liquid cooling system and a biometrics security system that supports facial, voice, and fingerprint scans. The system is also is said to offer a voice-enabled Media Center Communicator function for playing music and controlling other media functions.

Wow, that is actually starting to seem liek quite the machine.  I still don't expect it so sell though.

EDIT: anyone else think the controller looks exactly like the PS3 controller ?

This will flop for sure.

^I don't think it was, henceforth, the attempt was unssuccesful :P

As for the GC, it's the 2nd best 6th gen console, which made pretty big profits for Nintendo... in no way it is a flop.

Ah yes, I remember the Phantom, that was in development hell for ages and then it quietly dissappered and came back as... the EVO.
