As an Spanish, i think the reason of ps3 selling so much, it is because it is advertised a lot and the fact that the playstation was very important for videogame market here. But as you can see, it is changing

A little simplistic answer that. "Very very very materialistic nation" also very misguided. Both the US and UK are far more materialistic. Yes brand loyalty is part, as is political world views. A machine that fit their wants and many, many other answers

Well Wii is 800 behind PS3.... but 1st of all you could call that a statistical tie, and second of all given the weekly numbers we can be pretty sure as of now that the Wii has passed PS3.

The matieralistic thing seems off.  It's pretty matierlistic but less so then say.... the United States where the PS3 has floundered.

The image thing though does fit from what i've previously read about spain and other europeon countries purchasing habits.
