Forums - Nintendo Discussion - My Wii is gathering dust!!!

If the Wii is boring you, take a look at the catalog. There is plenty to interest gamers of all types. All you have to do -and admittedly this can be difficult for people used to following the marketing hype- ignore the so-called "professional" reviewers. Never have they been so worthless as on a console where they can't throw up a few screenshots and say OMG SO PRETTY DESU and expect the game to sell.

Complexity is not depth. Machismo is not maturity. Obsession is not dedication. Tedium is not challenge. Support gaming: support the Wii.

Be the ultimate ninja! Play Billy Vs. SNAKEMAN today! Poisson Village welcomes new players.

What do I hate about modern gaming? I hate tedium replacing challenge, complexity replacing depth, and domination replacing entertainment. I hate the outsourcing of mechanics to physics textbooks, art direction to photocopiers, and story to cheap Hollywood screenwriters. I hate the confusion of obsession with dedication, style with substance, new with gimmicky, old with obsolete, new with evolutionary, and old with time-tested.
There is much to hate about modern gaming. That is why I support the Wii.

that's some pretty special dust you got there'

Electrical apparatus and gear emits static, which collects/attracts dust. So, don't worry and dust of your Wii and it'll be right as rain in no time!

My Wii has been gathering dust for the past month too! But that's just mainly cuzz there ain't no (really) big releases for the system a.t.m and Animal Crossing just isn't my type of game. Although I love the system, I love Nintendo's games and love the games that have been released already on the system! It's just temporary! When Mad World arrives! I'm gonna be back to kicking ass on my Wii... And an occasional game of Brawl or Kart won't harm I think! Just to keep the hardware running from time to time!

The main fact that I haven't really used my Wii lately is because 1) no really big releases a.t.m And the fact that I've been busy playing a plethora of big PS3 games and finishing a back-catalog of Cube games (on my Cube, but could've done that on Wii)... Games like Bioshock, Eternal Darkness, Fifa 09, Pikmin, Metal Gear Solid 4... It's all just better then what's coming out for Wii... So that's why! Priorities! Wii will have it's moment of glory back in a few months I think, for me!

yeh it is pretty special... just dont snort it..

in other news Mario has gone into rehab to wane himself off his magic mushroom addiction...

OT: seriously though theres plenty of games to play (and due to come out), im not gonna bother makeing a list, there are better ones posted by other users, I myself have yet to complete paper mario, sonic atsr, ghost squad, house of the dead 2&3 (some of these are considered mediocre, but they have their charm), I havent started No more heroes, smash bros, links crossbow training, I need to get kart wii, wii fit, wii music, fifa 09, waiting for disaster, madworld, no more heroes 2,oh god the list goes on (damn i inadvertantly made a list), so i cant see how the wii would be gatheringdust except mine which is just filthy...

You should really dust your Wii out before playing it again. Otherwise, when the next big game comes out your Wii may not work.

i don't understand threads like this

i haven't touched my wii in a few months but i would never want to sell it....

i have been busy with other games but i still want to be able to play wii when i have friends over or if the mood strikes me

you will probably get flamed by nintendo fanboys

but honestly, I can understand why you'd be bored. I mean for me, personally, I need large, open world games where I can spend hours exploring and/or kickass multiplayer so that I can spend longer with each game

with the wii...I just don't see any of this. Sure it has multiplayer....but it's kinda hard to get serious with friends during mario-kart or w/e

nintendo doesnt exactly have the best online service either

i heard that friend codes(i dont know what they are) make online impossible.

So just sell it and try something different!
Don't buy another console, cause after playing the AAA titles you'll get bored again...
