Holy shit! Good job psp3000! I didn't expect such a big jump but I have to say: whoa! There will be a nice fight this xmas between DSi and PSP3k! And we also know that a slim ps3 would sell like hell!

Well I'm not sure about the 1000 model, but for the 2000 models several stores have been clearancing them out. For example, Amazon JP had the 2000 models selling for 13,900 yen(~US $140). The normal price is 19,900 yen(~US $200), so that's about 6000 yen(~US $60) off the price. Pretty good incentive to buy the older model.
I was actually thinking about picking up a 2000 model myself, but decided against it at the last moment as I have too many games already at the moment.
