Have fun with your heart attack

I will!  Of course I have ideal blood pressure if not a tad bit low, no history of heart conditions in my family, and have had multiple doctor's tell me I have a remarkably strong heart...so I may not get to have the fun you're talking about...no worries I'll just eat a few more pounds of bacon and make up the difference

I like my diet where a salad is what food eats.

Heart attack? from what, eating meat?  Tell that to my 80 and 90+ elder relatives who have spent a lifetime eating meat/veggies and probably snacks many would consider unhealthy, and are still alive and well; many people eat snacks and unhealthy items and end up living long/healthy lives.

It's fucked up to assume that just because someone doesn't follow a tight-ass diet, that they are going to die of a heart-attack.

A.) I'm a vegetarian, have been for 7 years. I'm considering going vegan soon, I'm actually starting to understand the reasoning for veganism. It took me awhile.

B.) for all of you people who are bringing out that "we're omnivores, we're supposed to eat like this" I'm so sick of that. Seriously, if you look at the average hunter-gatherer society (which would show our natural eating habits), they don't eat nearly as much meat as the average person in countries like the USA. Like hardly any meat. In fact, they don't need it. For the most part they survive off of what the women gather and every once in a while the men bring home some meat... as a rare treat. I learned that in anthropology class, so no I didn't just pull that out of my ass. Obviously diets vary according to location. So the inuit in example would eat mostly fish and other meats. I believe our omnivorous nature just makes us more flexible in our diets. Its for the sake of survival we can eat whatever is available.

...

Ok.

1st.  When people tend to eat primarily meat. And lots of meat, they run a much higher risk of CVA and other heart issues.

2nd.  All I was and am trying to say is eating meat is not better than not eating meat.

Actually I mostly eat salmon, shrimp, chicken, and beef when it comes to meat.  I stay away from ham, spam, bacon, etc... for the most part with the possible exception of some occasional bacon on a baked potatoe etc..

The short answer is that I'm an omnivore. More specifically I eat very little dairy, some grains and vegetables and plenty of fruit and meat. I just need to start eating more veggies but I really do hate most of them.

@Moongoddess256

It's funny how you state that people eat an unnatural amount of meat then you mention becoming a vegan. Human beings can not survive without the vitamin B12 provided by meat, eggs and milk. Without supplements it is not possible to live as a vegan. The average American's gluttony does not change the fact that eating meat is both natural and healthy.

On topic: I would die of starvation if I was a vegtablearian. I am far too keen on meat.
