Forums - General Discussion - UK Labour party, Is anyone else unafraid to admit they support them?

I know Gordon Brown has taken an awful lot of flack over recent months (some of it justified, some of it not) and support for the labour party has slumped a lot recently (a year ago they had a 10 point lead over the tories, now its a 12 point deficit) However I still count myself as a labour party supporter and will continue to do so for at least the forseeable future. I trust Brown with our economy far more than the Etonian "down wiv da kidz" cameron.

I've been rambling a bit here, but my main point is that is there anyone else on this site who still remains a labour supporter in spite of all the recent problems they've been having?

your opinion on other the other party isnt really needed and i think lots of the english public would actually support him over brown anyday.

Well, I'd support Labour over any shitty Tory anyday. But, I'd vote Green over any shitty Labour for the rest of the days.

That came out complicated, but I'll just say that I'm a Green.

And, yes, Cameron is not the man to trust with the economy. Especially when he keeps referencing to Thatcher... that is not the style of leadership we need in times like these.

Don't quote me on this, but Brown's popularity has gone up slightly over the past week or so. And a lot can happen in two years, David-public-school-Cameron's victory isn't guaranteed.

However, if Conservative do get into power, I believe that could give the Lib Dems could get a better-than-expected result.

It isn't needed, but its still connected to my point, therefore I think it was perfectly acceptable for me to mention it in my original post. Also, as a general aside, when did it become cool to be like thatcher?

i think you no yourself that the chances of this prediction are very slim. Victory 70% certain in my opinion.

Actually, I don't, I believe that Brown could pull through. It's more like 50-50 for me.
