the big question is : can garb*** 360 with 4k units per week be saved after the launch of GM. after all G 360 is the least selling console in JAPAN..........lol.......what a shame. even the ps2 beats it by 4:1............hahahhaha

Yes and no, it will most probarbly give it a small boost for some time, the problem I see is that I think Wii will continue to hold itself on top of the PS3 anyway. I do think PS3 is a little bit to expensive for a one game purchase so Sony needs to follow up any good Gundam sales with some new game aimed for Japan.

sigh...should I feed the troll? Why not. I don't think anybody one this forum belives that Xbox360 will win japan, BUT I do belive that many of us (myself included) would belive that Sony would have atleast reached one million consols by now. I actuly belived that Wii and PS3 would run neck to neck for at least one year, and then Wii would slowly lose ground. What we see now is that Nintendo is building momentum.

Gundam is the second best selling game on Amazon.jp so demend is pretty good I suppose. PS3 is also higher day after day. First Gundam was real crap (reviews). 130k copies sold notwithstanding. This game is good (9 8 8 8 - Famitsu) so maybe it wil became one more reason to buy a PS3 for many Japanese. I hope so. I think situation isn't dramatic. I believe Wii will not beat PS3 during week of Musou (PS3 around 100k, Wii below 60k).

How do you define "save the PS3"? No, it won't save it. It might sell 35-40k h/w units over the week, and 100-110k units of S/W. Very good increase, but nothing great. It's not a Blue Dragon-type thing to where they're bundlnig it at a very cheap cheap deal. The PS3 is still far too expensive to do massive sales. The true games that will save the PS3 are FFXIII and MGS4 + a price drop. What Sony NEEDS is a price drop + big title, not just the title. 100k this week, better hold than VF5...Maybe down to 25k or 30k next week.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

hmm I think you are right but still not ;) 100 k PS3 most possible, 60 k Wii not if nintendo isn't totally stupid...I mean Wii is still supply constrained so mayby they are holding up to counter Sony?

I could be wrong, but thought I read that Gundam Musuo could only sell 140k its first week because that is how many will hit stores; if this is true I would expect the PS3 to sell less than 70k because I would anticipate (at least) half the sales of the game will come from existing PS3 owners.

Remember the PS3 is already cheaper in Japan, about $420 for the 20gb and $510 for the 60gb.

Nobody is crazy enough to accuse me of being sane.
