Which game do you think will do better in sales and which game will just be better overall

Dont know about sales - crisis core will be the better game tho.

And your basis for such an opinion?

The "whoring" out of FFVII did seem to be one of Square's lower moments during the lull between FFX and FFXII.

Dirge of Cerebus did not have the greatest gameplay.  Can we all give that a rest?  That's the only other console game that has been based on FF7.

Btw, it had great cut scenes and a worthwhile history of Vincent.

CB will. I loved the first one. The music was great. I look forward to the Wii game.

I just hope the GFX are a whole lot better than a DQS and progressive scan show crystal clear images, as after seeing DQS, it doesn't promise any good IMO.

This is my personal opinion of course, but it was a force fed history that was in no way FF7, it was as if you'd been transported to an alternate moody dimension of J-Pop Funk. The game was a dissapointment for the most part, but no one is bringing it up out of context to bash it, its brought up in relevant context to an upcomming fellow FF7 spin-off.

In regards to other comments... I'm also not exactly sure why the Cell Phone games don't count as they're made by the same people and contribute to the same "Funk" of the spin-off "fiasco" as more critical fans such as myself would call it. The fact they're being put on Cell Phones to exploit that market is another contributing factor of frustration for many fans. How can you put integral parts of an alleged story on an inaccessable "platform" then be content? It's also somewhat frustrating for fans to listen to everyone say FF7 essentially wasn't that good a FF game then see them go ape nuts over the far inferior spin-offs.

crisis core,
over 30 million psp's by that time vs
12 million wii's by that time, more sales will come out from the psp game.

Well, those numbers don't make sense.

30 million for Crisis Core might make sense, as that game has a September 2007 Japanese release date. But Crystal Bearers has no release date yet. In all liklihood it will debut significantly later than Crisis Core in all regions. For the Wii install base to be only 12 million, the game would have to come out before the holiday season this year. It isn't.

Most likely, the Wii install base will be over 20 million by the time the game comes out (Nintendo's goal through March 2008). That makes install base a non-issue, IMO.

I'd guess Crystal Bearers sells better. Handheld FF games haven't ever done amazingly, but they've done better on DS and GBA than PSP thus far. In fact, the original Crystal Chronicles is the only million-selling FF game on a lesser-selling console in the VGC database.

The games which should be mentioned are FFIV and Crystal Chronicles: Rings of Fate on DS, as those are guarenteed hits.

"[Our former customers] are unable to find software which they WANT to play."
"The way to solve this problem lies in how to communicate what kind of games [they CAN play]."

Satoru Iwata, Nintendo President. Only slightly paraphrased.

They're both going to be good games, so I don't care which does better...they're in separate leagues anyway.

i agree BenKenobi88...they are on 2 different platforms...that are doing two different things..

I really don't think we should compare these two games.
Crisis Core against Rings of Fate is much better as both are on handhelds, in which case Rings of Fate will of course sell more.
