excellent choices with rogue squadron and WW, WW is my favourite game... whats this about 2 dungeons and a rush job?...damn ninty should know not to rush zelda. as for the other choices i never had them, but i am considering pikmin2 if i find it cheap enough, and i kind of wish i had got eternal darkness over REmake now... maybe i'll find that too. can i also reccomend wave race: blue storm for a fun, and very tricky racer and chibi robo 'cos it's ace. battalion wars was apparently great too, though i am waiting for the new wii one. oh little off toppic i suppose... sorry. i have a wii, had a gc and still have an n64 n64 was what got me into 'gaming proper'. had a megadrive before but didnt know about the gaming world till 2000 ish...when i was already nintendofyed [though the main reason i only own nintendo is price, cant afford 2 systems per gen

Yep. Never owned a Nintendo console before, bought the Wii as a (joint) present for my dad. It was kind of his idea, he saw the advert for Wii Sports on the tv and said 'wow that looks like fun', so we decided to get him one for his birthday.

Personally, I prefer to play the PS3 we have, but Wii is great for older members of the family to get involved. I bought RE4 for myself, which is fantastic, but I'm going to hold off getting anymore games for a while (I'll buy them as presents for family members - another bonus of having all the family involved, you can buy them presents you will actually enjoy as well :D ).

Smash Bros, Mario Kart and Zelda are the ones I intend to buy though.

No GC, last (and only) console owned was NES (since PC is not considered a console).

Enjoying it so far, aside from some minor problems. 

Looking forward to lots of games, but will have to see more before a definite buy.

I have a Wii, and I haven't been with Nintendo for the past two generations. I've skipped both the N64 and the Gamecube. No regrets whatsoever...I don't feel like I've missed much.

As for the Wii, I love it. There are plenty games out already to justify the investment (Zelda, Trauma Center, Excite Truck, Elebits and Godfather come immediately to mind), and lots of games to look forward to. I'm especially anticipating No More Heroes, Mario Galaxy, Zack and Wiki, and Trauma Center: New Blood.

Yeah all those games are great.  I'm pretty sure you can grab Wind Waker and the 2 Metroids for a total of $40 bucks either online or in an EB Games.
