Pokemon is getting low with the DS

Japan is still a main market... just in a lull right now. More than likely due to the lack of big titles and the market leader, DS, over saturated. However this holiday season and into 2009 should fix this. Also will weed out the weaker properties such as 360 for instance and possibly PS2. But for now these eccentrically low sales are to no surprise.

360 continues to fall off but a little slower than expected. TGS may have had something to with it staying up a little more while the rest of the bunch falls off on a normal week. Once again still no signs of 360 sold out in Japan at any time so if that is continuously being said then get over it haha. As I've stated it's been looking like 360 would level off in between 4k-6k and this is looking like what will happen for a normal week.

PS3 will inevitably go back up due to the brand while its not so certain whether 360 will be able to replicate this on a normal week. Of course Last Remnant this year should help holiday sales.

Wii is pretty low but it's got some significant titles releasing soon which should relieve those lows and similar for PSP and DS.

 I disagree. They're doing the regular Pokemon stuff.

It's slightly lower than usual (compared to opening) for the previous Pokemon titles that have sold roughly the same, but not a lot. The 3rd wheel has always had worse legs than the originals (compared to total sales of course).

Yeah, indeed. But it's more normal than I thought at first.

Pokemon is the kind of game that starts out awesomely.

1M first week.

Then after ~ 3 months it is down to 10K (ish), and then it just keep selling that for a few years.

Pokemon Diamond/Pearl is going to have roughly 75% of its sales within the first 10 weeks (in Japan).

Therefore, I doubt Platinum has more than tops 1M more sales left in it.

Well kind of related to this thread, but all the stores I've checked out recently and from what I've seen is that NOBODY has new DS Lites in stock! That's how it is at every store I go to! I'm really surprised by that since the DSi isn't coming out until Nov. I'd guess that they'd try to keep them more in stock.

The PSP 2000 was also out of stock, but that's to be expected since the PSP 3000 just came out today to replace it. I'm pretty sure that the DSi isn't replacing the DS Lite is it? I thought it was supposed to supplement it, or is that only in the US and not in Japan?

PSP low because of the 3000 model coming out this week that's understandable, Wii also suprisingly low but it will recover eventually. And DS? DS still sells great i mean there are so many DS's in Japan and it's still selling, DSi should help to recover.

Worrying numbers for the PS3

sony need's to address this problem in japan.
it seems like they have truned there back on the gamers there.
and it seems like people dont care how powerfull the PS3 is..
all they want is games and rpgs
