Forums - Sales Discussion - Capcom: PS3 "Sluggish", PSP Underachieving

It's also underachieving in terms of software sales relative to userbase and game budgets

Around the Network

it's really more of a case of the DS overachieving than the PSP underachieving.

the Wii is an epidemic.

Capcom is getting at my last nerve, they said a long time ago when the roumer that DMC4 was headed to the 360, they said it will "never" in its life time head to the x360, but they lied, and now they are bashing sony's console. I understand that by sluggsih they mean the 256mb ram slowing down the framerate and load speeds, but they just dont know how to use the spu's. I hate them. Just as much as I am starting to hate SCEA.

I do believe Capcom is getting on your nerves, but I don't believe that you are starting to hate Sony. If you were starting to hate sony, there would be some animosity. Then, Capcom would not get on your nerves. You would just see it as what capcom thinks.

Capcom = captain obvious. Though it's interesting to see them criticize the PSP considering their MH games are basically the only thing keeping it alive in Japan.

Capcon are idiots, Mh franchise sold millions where ?

They should be honest and say DMC went multi cause Heavenly Sword was gonna kill our sales.

Right ...

When Devil May Cry began development Capcom was given the same initial projections that everyone else was (10 Million PS3 systems sold by the end of 2006); after that they were given the revised projection that everyone got at E3; and they were even given the revized (revized) projections after the production problems. THE PS3 HAS NOT MET ANY OF THEIR PROJECTED SALES!!!

Capcom is porting Devil May Cry because they believe they need a userbase much larger than the PS3's userbase will be in order to make a good profit.

They didn't say the console was slow, just the sales of it.  Love Capcom!

1/ Said about 10x now - Konami are the last bastion of Sony. If they fall, its all over. Capcom, Namco/Bandai, Koei, Tecmo,SquareEnix - all gone.

2/ PSP hardware sales are fine, but software sales (esp. in Japan) are terrible. Seen the charts recently?

Haha? Anyway more Jap devs moving away from Sony it seems.

I'm sorry, Soriku, but you REALLY need to get your head out of your ass.

Well, Capcom is a big company, and I really think Sony needs to improve relations with them. Not only them, but Ubisoft and Take Two. Wow, they have a long way to go."

...

And you really need to tighten up on your language. This sort of thing isn't required, and is bordering on a personal attack. Consider this a "pre" warning.

Gesta Non Verba

Nocturnal is helping companies get cheaper game ratings in Australia:

Game Assessment website

Wii code: 2263 4706 2910 1099

The ps3 is getting a price cut in europe sooner or later, and hopefully that will double sales like it did here in the U.S

Nintendo Gamers: "Yeah, another company hates Sony"

Sony Gamers: "Capcom sucked anyway"

Sigh... can't we all just grow up? Sony fanboys, if you're going to dodge such facts with claims of everything going to turn around for the PS3 in the future, don't be surprised when you get bullshit called on you. Nintendo fanboys, if you're going to make such a spectacle of previously known information, you're only begging for a flame war, can we take the high road here?

I'm interested to see if games like DMC4 or RE4 will ever end up on a console such as the Wii, probably not, but one can dream can't they?

Agreed 100%.

Just kiss the tip.
