I personally dislike the firmware updates (mine's been freezing since 2.42) and the bluray drive's slow read speed. I also don't understand why Sony would use only 512 megs of XDR RAM after investing so much in the rest of the hardware. The delays and second rate ports don't help either. The only reason I own a PS3 is because of Sony's 1st/2nd party game development, otherwise I would not have purchased it. Sony has built an extremely unattractive console and only a lower price and improved library of games can improve sales. I am happy about the apparent quality of LBP and I hope that MS2, R2, KZ2 and GoW3 live up to expectations for that would surely solve the issue of quality games.

PS3 and PSP are the omega systems IMO.
Why you ask?
Because they push the envelope forward in a manner that I approve. SOny knows their system was not the best that it could be last gen. The PS2 did not have a built in hard drive, or stable online as the competition had. Even so they remained the unmatched market leader. This gen they dont want to feel behind anymore. They have created a system that will not be able to be outdone, at least for some years. Built in bluray to inforce a new era of dvd format as well as expand our gaming potential to unreasonable perportions, Built in features that the competion forces you to pay for at unreasonably INFLATED prices. Sturdy hardware that I rarely have to worry about going kaboom on me during play. and free services. all this done at the company's exspense when they should charge to make money(at least at a business stand point).

PSP is a great portable media source. I get to play games, watch movies, surf the net all on the go.

The omega console? As in, the last console Sony will ever make? I don't think so, though Sony really needs to move on. The PS3 has failed, and they need to either make something new, go back to supporting the PS2 fully, or get out of this industry before it drags the whole company down.
