What an America-centric way of looking at the figures! It's American (and Japanese) figures which stand out the most from the world "norm", due to high levels of loyalty for the "home" console. And frankly, MS are lucky that their home country buys 40% of the world's consoles, or they'd be really drowning. But you see America as the norm, and if twenty other countries do things differently, they're all peculiar.

To be honest I think brand loyalty plays a very huge part.  Why else would the PS3 be doing so well in Europe (other than UK) compared to everywhere else?  Are you suggesting only those in continental Europe are able to appreciate value while Japan, UK, US can't?  I am sure if the 360 was PS3 and PS3 was 360 then with the price being like €150 for the cheapest bundle the "PS3" would be selling three times as much as the "360".

PS3 had no good exclusives? Metal Gear Solid 4.

Easily the highest quality exclusive the PS3 will see this generation, it is that good.

@Gazz: Clearly you didn't recognise the OP was a troll post, or else it would have been in the SALES forum of this website and it would have "Discuss" attached to the end of it.

So perhaps unna should "bugger off"

@OP: Cell's power isn't getting tapped. PS3's getting taken out to dinner, tapped in a seedy hotel and not getting called the next day by the 360 and Wii!

Here in Europe, the marketing communication about the price cut is one week old.

I can hardly believe that the effect of the price cut can be mesured on the entire market.

Conclusion = biased views on uncompleted figures
