Forums - Gaming Discussion - Best Console Ever!

The least hated console ever is the Atari 2600. Why has no one given this answer yet? Everyone loved the Atari at the time. There were no Atari bashers.

I remember everyone was happy with the 2600, until the publishers went crazy and throw real crap, we got really crappy games, and the crash? remember the crash? after that we didn't trust anyone involved in consoles...

For those that say the SNES didn't get hate, where were you when Sonic fanboys fought with Mario fanboys??? "The SNES is kiddy, Mortal Kombat has blood and you get it censored, Sonic is cooler than Mario" "Sonic is bullshit, it only runs and jumps, and Bowser can kick Robotnik's ass"... in fact, some of them are still my friends and we laugh about those times when we play Brawl together...

A lineup that fades in the face of the PS2. If you think that's the least hated console, you're not spending enough time on these forums.

On topic, the Dreamcast. I never heard anyone say anything bad about it, and I won't be the one that does either.

Just for fun, I'll say something bad about the Dreamcast. I always found it annoying how the controller wire came out the controller at the opposite end of the controller (facing you). I thought it was silly and bad design. Sure you could wrap it through the little slot they made on the controller but it always fell out and never stayed tight. Why didn't they just design it like most other controllers in the first place. That's the one thing that bugs me about the Wii Classic controller as well.

Besides that though, I always liked the Dreamcast.

I'll come up with something better eventually...

Vectex -- because it was unique with raster graphics

Colecovision -- because of the crash, there was not time

NES -- because there was no competition for many years

DC -- because it is thought of as a something before its time

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.

I would have to say the NES, back in those days there was no such thing as "hatting a console", back in those days you did not really care about poligons and such, and the people our age these days did not really care about consoles or at
least did not take as seriously as we do (not neccesarly a bad thing).
