Mega Man 9 wasn't released on disc to my knowledge. That was a press kit given to the press to promote the game. There was no profit made on it. I have never seen an NES looking box in my local Target with Mega Man 9 inside.

It's probably not their choice and it's probably the Wii's low internal memory and the large file size that is keeping this from going there. Why not just deal with it since that's the situation? You have no evidence there even is an issue in regards to controls. You have no evidence, no proof and nothing from Capcom stating anything about this game yet. How it is you manage to continue your complaining with your foot squarely shoved into your mouth is beyond me.

@Valkyria00-MVC2 doesn't need to be released on VC because the Dreamcast is not a console Nintendo offers on there. Plus all VC games have no upgrades in features, while you would expect online play from this title. WiiWare would be the appropriate place to put this if it were possible.

But its not a dreamcast game. It was ported there along with all other home consoles. But I guess it wouldnt fit under a specific console but still.

Ok so if it's an arcade game then explain to me how it's going to fit into Virtual Console. Keyword: Console. Why bother even arguing this? The reason consoles like the Dreamcast and Saturn aren't available is because there are limits on VC and the available consoles' games fit under those limits. The only one that doesn't completely fit under it is the Nintendo controlled N64. You think that's a coincidence? There are necessary limits with DL on the Wii because Nintendo still only has 512MB to work with and doesn't want a few titles available that could hog it.

@Onyx: Why couldn't they release this on disc for a low price like they did with MM9, say 20 dollars?
They always seem to favour the HD consoles and leave the Wii aside. They could make a different game for WiiWare instead. It's their choice not to bring this game to the Wii and that's why I'm upset. Also if TvsC is getting released it means they have found a proper way of controlling it. So there should be no problems using the same control methods for this game.
Capcom needs to step up in America when it comes to the Wii. Is it just me or most companies this gen are very confused about what to do or not to do on the Wii? I mean most Wii versions of multiplat games keep on getting delayed, cancelled, postponed, re thought, gimped down. It's about time devs start focusing on the Wii seriously, it's the fastest selling system of all times and it's being treated as if it was the worst one.
I don't wanna buy another console as people suggested here, because it's not cheap to do so here and because I don't have enough time to play that many games. Logic would dictate that Wii should be getting 3rd party games, but that's not happening. Maybe I did choose the wrong console after all.

I love the strawman you have built up here. Sven comments that the controls of the Wii are less than ideal and suddenly the reason the Wii isn't getting any ports is because Sven can't find a good control scheme! You completely ignore the fighters they are releasing with the control scheme you proposed for no apparent reason. Perhaps they took a look at the cost of a port job and figured it wouldn't be worth selling it because not enough people have a classic controller currently. I know it is a ridiculous concept, but only a certain percentage of Wii owners are going to have the controller which limits the instal base at a much lower point. Consequently the projected number of units sold goes down and you get a port that is not financial feesible.

Your suggestion to put MvC2 on a disc is also laughable at best. It incurs a non-trivial cost in production and shipping of the game on top of the already existing cost of development. If this was a relatively low budget port of the game then it is easy to suspect that they couldn't set the cost low enough to still reasonable expect to turn a profit on the project. Without sufficient return on investment there is absolutely no point in actually making the game.

I also love that you call me a blind Nintendo fanboy. Here I am defending Capcom for not putting the game on the Wii while you attack them creating whatever reason is easiest for you to use as an assault against them as the reason for the game not getting ported. I can acept that sometimes my favorite console is not optimized for certain games. The wiimote + nunchuck combo is a terrible set-up for a 6 button fighter. There is no two ways around that. So long as that remains true there will only be a certain percentage of Wii owners who would even consider buying the game. Suck it up and move on. If you don't like the games your system gets then get a different system.

OT: Hopefully Capcom will explain whats going on soon. I am half tempted to pick this game up just to round out the list of fighters I have for my 360.

@Soriku: I thought the same thing about Spyborgs, they had said that Spyborgs would be big. I found out in the same forum that they said that "big" meant that they are going to make a big push consisting of a cartoon show, merchandising, toys and obviously the game. They wanted to make a big brand out of it, not a big game. The game is only part of that strategy as far as I know.

Though that game is still on the "we will see" list, since they said they are making a complete overhawl (possibly due to all the backlash they received after first showing it) and they are not ready to show it yet. I hope for the best of that game.
Maybe Capcom also invested hard on the HD's and is now realising that Wii will be the winning system this gen, but I've yet to see that change in mentality...

I am going to warn you right now you will hate me when you play. One of my favorite teams is Mega Man, Captain Commando, and Doom. I have only ever managed to KO one person playing this team, but I have wons countless times by time over. Gogo broken assists!

PS: I still need to teach you a lesson in Bleach DS2

@Soriku
For this specific instance I would agree entirely. I was speaking more broadly and explaining why Sven would ask the question he did. MvC2 could easily be done with a bit of waggle and 4 buttons off the wiimote + nunchuck as you don't really need that much accuracy for calling in assists.

PS360 is basically one platform its just easier not to think of a wii version. How would this be released on the Wii anywa via WiiWare! That would be a first for an old title not released on a Nintendo/Sego/Whatever else company on the VC would be released for Wii.

I don't know why you would expect such a thing.

@Soriku: They said that by big they meant a big brand. I will try to find the link, again I'm not making anything up.

If they're making cool stuff to go with it, why not make a good game too?

Besides, they said it was a big game not a big brand. Although it'll most likely be both.

This is exactly what Microsoft did with Viva Pinata, and that takes nothing away from the quality of the game.

@Gnizmo-Your Bleach Dark Souls lesson will be coming soon enough. Get to practicing.

^^^ I agree with Kylie. Seems MvsC2 would squash the crap out of TvsC if it were released for the same system

Only reason I can think of is that it'll be downloadable through PSN/XBLA. WiiWare's 40MB limit is far too small for MVC2. They'd have to release a retail copy of the game.
